I figured on probably 2,500 to 2,800 yards, probably 17 TD's to 15 INT... He would probably look great at the beginning of the season, but get slow and struggly as the year wore on...

Re: Portis Out To Prove Redskins Wrong
Here Portis speaks about how he would fair better playing for a team with an established QB....and expresses his view of the local media, suggesting them more a hindrance than an asset. Donovan McNabb was not up to snuff.
Clinton Portis says McNabb wasn’t ready for the D.C. media - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post Portis and Barber can form the complaining duo in NY and take LaVar back with them. So, Clinton Portis wants to play for the Giants... - Hard Hits - The Washington Post

Re: Portis Out To Prove Redskins Wrong
^^ Portis is such a dumbass. I'm sooooo glad this turd is gone. One "me" player down, a few more to go. I find it hilarious he's bitching about the DC media, yet is talking about playing for the Giants. This guy is so stupid and listening to his interviews make me cringe.

^LOL.
Lavar.... Quote:
1: Since 99 HC's change every few yrs and players don't fit the mold. 2: Instead of building through the draft the team gets FA's, and the players come here to get paid then find out they don't fit the mold a year or two later. In any event there is no stability in the coaching aspect and no building throught the draft for long term players. The Skins moto should be "It's all about change." |

Yeah, I'd think the NY media would be Killing players picking them apart, but I could be wrong. I guess looking at the positive side of things Portis is trying to say the DC media and fan base are a knowledgable media and fan base who are starved for information. NY must have a lame media and fan base. Players can get away with murder... or shooting themselves in the leg. OOOPS. |

I don't make a habit of commenting on threads without reading the link...but I have wasted enough of my life reading about what Portis has to say...my only thought is thank god he's gone...

Re: Portis Out To Prove Redskins Wrong
I am a tad siappointed by CP's comments. But, I will always appreciate the time he spent here as our featured back. He came with his share of BS and he was a pain in the ass at times. Yet you can't argue with his production during, his willigness to put his hat on a blitzer, his concession to go from a one cut zone runner to a between the tackles yard churner (at 205 lbs.) or his seal of approval from Joe Gibbs. I loved CP in the B&G and will miss him as a performer.
That being said, business is business. CP, if you do go to a division rival....I am going to heckle you and encourge our D to lay the wood to you. After you retire, I'll clap when you are entered into the ring of fame.

Re: Portis Out To Prove Redskins Wrong
Why are people disappointed and get all righteous when a Redskin player leaves and talk crap about the Redskins? At any place of employment you have good productive employees and you have bad apples or employees that leave upset. Part of life.
Do you expect something else? Doyou really expect all Redskin players will leave content? |

Re: Portis Out To Prove Redskins Wrong
I think Portis gave us 6 solid years. Sure he had some drama, but so did Riggins-the "gold standard" for Redskins running backs.
I wish things had ended under better circumstances but it was time for him and us to move on.

Re: Portis Out To Prove Redskins Wrong
I was too. his act wore thin with me around 2008. you all know that.
But no lie, he seemed like a changed man when Shanahan arrived. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he really seemed like he wanted to turn over a new leaf....
