What good did that do him? He stayed after practice and caught balls after practice, but yet he still had a hard time catching balls in games? He's just too inconsistent. |

Vikings have no plans to trade for Gardner now.

Seems like the pro-Gardner people blow that off more often than the anti-Gardner people blow off the one 1000 yard season he had. He had one good season out of 4. Wow, I'm really impressed, even in baseball that's a crappy percentage. When is it time to move on? I'd say 4 seasons is more than enough time to properly evaluate a player. Last year was a disappointment for Moss because of injuries, but he STILL had a much better season than Gardner, and he also played in a conservative offense. |

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
I still REALLY REALLY want the Skins to draft Williams with our first pick.

You are probably one of those "fans" that think Ramsey is the next Montana, right? |

You guys make Gardner out to be some horrible player. Yes, he drops balls. He has good speed for a man of his size, and he can make some big plays. He can get YAC, and is better than Moss, Patten, and McCants. If we can trade him, fine. I understand wanting to move on because seeing the spot where he was drafted makes him a bust. However, I bet he'd be at the top of the depth chart. There's a reason he's been a starter for this team for a while. There looks to be a good chance that we won't get either Edwards or Williams, so that leaves our options at WR in the draft as very slim. Gibbs doesn't seem to like McCants. So we may have to keep Gardner.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
Skinz - It was reported by the Washington Post that he was doing that. I think Ramsey has potential and played well when given the oppurtunity. I also realize when you take away all of a man's receivers and replace them it takes time for chemistry to form.
Ramsey has a gun, and once his head catches up with his arm - he'll be great. They need to cater the offense to do two things: focus on Portis's strengths (quick cut and go), and Ramsey's strength (less short passes more intermediate to long passes. 7-15 yard completions.
