So what if Gardner DOES stay?
I was reading on another site about how it is very possible that Gardner might not get dealt at all. Any feelings on this and where do you think he would fit in the scheme if he was still on the team next year?

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
I see no reason why he wouldn't be our #1 if he stayed.

I think we'll move him on draft day, if not who knows, maybe we cut him outright and save ourselves $2M. I don't see him coming back.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
I hope so. I read more in the other site saying the Redskins pretty much "threw him under the bus" in saying that he was not in their plans in 2005.
Fingers are crossed for that 3rd round pick.

I think that ships sailed. He won't be back. if they continue to have trouble moving him they will eventually lower their demands. They are still holding to the hope that they will get a #3 for him.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
I also think he won't be back - but if he is back, which was the question, I think he'd have to be our #1. We don't have anyone better.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
You don't think Moss is better? If Gardner were to continue to play at the level he did last year, I'd take Moss any day.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
There's a reason Moss was being moved to #3. Moss is quick, and he can stretch defenses, but he's not a #1 in my eyes. Peerless Price II.

I read somewhere that if we can't get a trade done, then he'll get cut. I don't see how he could be our #1 IMO.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
I am with most of you on Rod and that we may be better off without him but one of the main delays in a move being made is that Rod wants that one season to inflate his value before he is a free agent next year. This could be a great thing for our beloved skins.
Let him have the one year, at a low cap cost to do his best for the big dollars. Can this really hurt us? |

I agree, someones hand will be forced on draft day, don't see him coming back, and don't want him coming back. |

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
Red Rob is right. If he has that "contract year" type effort on the field then why not keep him and then let him go next year. However that is a big "IF", maybe to risky to keep him around as far as team chemistry goes....

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
There might be somebody out there who needs a receiver to catch at least 50% of the passes, so they might be holding out to force the prices to be lowered that Gardner is asking for. I don't see us keeping Rod Gardner at all...in fact, I will be extremely surprised if we kept him.

Re: So what if Gardner DOES stay?
Maybe they should suck it up and take a 4th if they really wanna move him. I don't really know what they should do with him.
