I need info. What's the difference between a receivership and bankruptcy. I think in a receivership the government assumes control and they pay those affected, share holders be damned. I mean when you buy stock you are gambling, it was almost a sure thing but........sorry charlie.

BP isn't a U.S. corporation. They may have subsidaries that are U.S. corps, but main BP is in the UK.

and these dipshits get paid 7 or 8 figures a piece per year. The stockholders of these oil giants should demand accountability so their investments don't lose $ 70B in value.

MMS needs to do its job and enforce tougher standard on these a-holes or shut down their leases. If MMS keeps having coke/sex romps with the oil companies this will happen again.

I worked in the industry for 6 years. If you don't get oil to a refinery within a certain time limit it goes bad. They take it out into the ocean, dump it, and burn it. Why they didn't burn this crap from jump street is beyond me? Oh . . .

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

Words by which to live.

Particularly when you are talking about big corporations or governments.

Sometimes they go hand-in-hand, i.e. drunk drivers and BP. It does't take a genius to know what can go wrong.

So Obama says that BP is going to fund a 20 billion dollar fund to pay people back for their damages. This should be interesting to see how Obama shells out the money.

The BP pensioners in England are pissy that they're getting flack and losing money. Perhaps they would like to have some "BP" fish and chips?

Have they stopped the spill yet? They should have taken the best strategy available and called a national day of prayer for the oil spill. It would have been stopped by now. God loves America better than all other countries remember that social conservatives? Funny how adversity makes people who claim to be religious and self-reliant nothing more than petty hipocrits with their hand out for a government hand out. Adversity changes everything. Where are the liberals when yo need them, get that commie president down here so he can do some socialism right quick, before I faint because of the smell of the Ocean.

So when it comes to something real like an oil leak, I guess he can't?
