Re: What is CP worth

You must be insane. Under no circumstances should the Skins trade Portis. This offense is tailor-made for Clinton Portis. Don't you remember the sprint draws and the mis-direction plays that went for big yards early in the season. Two problems occurred this year:

1) Portis should have never attempted to tackle that guy in the preseason. Its easy to say that now, but that one play may have killed the season. The Skins were tenative in preseason afterwards and got off to a lousy start because of it. The lingering effects of that shoulder injury hampered him during the season.

2) Mark Brunell did not execute the offense as planned. Saunders offense calls for quick reads and throwing to spots prior to the receiver making his cuts. Brunell didn't trust his reads and refused to throw ahead of the receivers. He seemed to mostly check down. That allowed teams to bring in their safeties and stop the run and play tight pass coverage. When teams play tight pass coverage, you have to challenge them deep to keep the defense honest. Brunell refused or was incapable of doing that. I think that in the long run Campbell will execute this offense better and open up the running game.

Betts couldn't hold Portis's JOCK.

it's so cute how he pretends to be Clinton out there when he plays..and Betts is a real good player.

Portis is going nowhere...he's young and very good. Betts is so average it's rediculous.

Have you seen Tikki run the ball over the last two years?

nice spelling but no,....Betts is a little above average I think and he feeds off of Portis' raw talent and it inspires him to run better, maybe even run different!

I don't know why some people are so down on Betts. He's a pretty solid backup and some team out there would probably give him a shot at starting. We could certainly do much worse.

The Bears are set with Jones and Benson.

Again, shot in the dark there but, you catch my drift....Betts' could start for someone if he keeps playin the way he is. This is really his shot too. With CP out, he needs to carry the bulk of the load and i would love to see Duckett get WAYYYYYY more involved in the run game.....

The Jets were interested in trading for him earlier in the year.

Watch out for the next great NFL triplets, Ramsey, Betts, and Coles.

Arizona needs linemen not runningbacks. James isn't the problem there. They need Betts like we need another receiver.

Re: What is CP worth

i like portis and all but i would not care that much if we traded him. good running backs are a dime a dozen. he is a top 7 back but not in the top 3. i can name at least 3 or 4 better backs. at his salary we could pick up 3 or 4 good players
