I see a headline in the very near future...

I am also just tired of hearing that Taylor is being moved out by Landry, does anyone have a clue why we picked Landry so high? IT'S BECAUSE WE NEEDED A SAFETY WHO WOULD ALLOW TAYLOR TO BE EVERYTHING THAT HE CAN BE! Landry is not a replacement, he is a compliment to Taylor. For some reason I see post after post of individuals who can't get it out of thier heads that there are 2 safety positions not 1, as if you need only 1 good safety, and who cares for the other safety position. The last thing Taylor wants is a new contract after last season, he now has safety help and poised to have a monster year, then he can get paid.
It must be a full moon or something because lately I find myself agreeing with you.

People need to chill, we're already assuming he's not here due to contract issues, and some are even speculating this means he's headed for legal trouble again.

LOL c'mon, whatever happened to giving a guy the benefit of the doubt for a second??

Until we know more we should really chill with all the wild speculating.

Sean was at Redskins Park a couple of weeks ago working out with the team. The guy still has 4 yrs. left on his current contract and is making almost 2.5 mil this year. What does he want? Maybe they can extend him after another year but not this year.

Re: Springs and Taylor miss OTAs

First off, even if it is a contract squabble, let Taylor take up arms against the team for all I care. He's got no leverage. He is signed with us through 2010, scheduled to make base salaries of about $1 million per year. He doesn't have any roster bonuses or workout bonuses remaining in his contract, the only money coming his way is the base salary.

So what's he going to do, hold out for 3 years? Play 6 games each season to get credit for a season played? His base salaries are subject to him being here and playing. If he doesn't play for us, he gives up his base salary. So what, you think he's going to give up his source of income for the next 3 years?

Hell no. The guy will be here when it counts, he needs to earn his money. He can throw a fit about his contract for all I care, he has no leverage, the Skins know it, and they know he'll be here.

Missing OTAs? Whoopee stinkin doo. Until he starts missing mandatory training camp, who the frick cares.

I think when it's all said and done, the Redskins will do right by Sean Taylor.

It wouldn't at all surprise me if he got a new deal at the end of this season.

As others have already said, this is much less of a thing than people are making it out as. The Miami guys are notorious for working out in South Florida and it generally works out pretty well for them. As already mentioned, after last years season Gibbs has changed his policy and I for one think it is a good move. I didn't used to think that, but after hearing Clinton Portis talk on the John Thompson show (got to love PodCasts) he thought that one of the reasons for the tough season last year was that everyone was burned out from being at the Park since February. Let these guys have some time away from the game. They are professionals, they are working out with WORLD CLASS athletes and trainers down in Miami, and they will come back in great shape and recharged to give 100% to the Redskins. Stop freaking out, it will be ok.

In fact, if you do a search you'll see we tend to start one of these
Sean Taylor MIA threads yearly. This year is really no different.

Re: Springs and Taylor miss OTAs

All of you are whackass haters if you have anything agianst Sean Taylor. If he wants more money, he deserves it!!! HE IS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE TEAM!!! He should atleast make more than Brunnell.

Sean was here before OTAs working out off and on. He had troubles his rookie season but he is NOT A THUG. At that time he was a KID and kid's get into trouble.

As for Springs, you can't blame him he doesn't know if he'll be here come June 1st so what the point of participating in OTAs.
