Those bean eating bastards...I hope they choke on their clam chowder. I don't want any good things happening to the Patriots...uppity bastards with their illustrious organization and their level headed owner...who needs them.

I really don't hate Tom Brady, I just hate Bill Belichick. I can't deny his ability as a coach but I also think he's a classless person. I'll never forgive him for running up the score on the Redskins and humiliating Joe Gibbs. It's funny how people vilify the likes of T.O. and Chad Johnson, yet they give a$$hole coaches a break. Case in point when spygate came to light and people still gave Belichick the coach of the year award.

You can almost argue that Belichick won COY in '07 because of spygate, not despite it. Some teams with weaker leadership may have totally crumbled in the face of such a thing. All he did was go 16-0 without spying amidst the controversy. He set out to prove that he didn't need to cheat to succeed (I know, then why cheat to begin with?), and sold his players on it too.

Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is a gigantic douche, but he's the best head coach in the NFL.

I think he should not have gotten COY because of spygate. I remember when Merriman got selected to the Pro Bowl the same year that he got busted for steroids, some players complained and they made a policy that players guilty of steroids (and I think getting trouble in any sort of away) should not be eligible to win any awards or be selected to the Pro Bowl. I feel the same should've happened with Belichick and his COY award. He got busted for Spygate, so no award for him. I mean shouldn't coaches be subject to the same disciplinary actions that players go through?

Some players complained about Merriman making the pro-bowl, just as I'm sure there were some front office types/coaches pretty miffed that Belichick got COY. But Merriman was still a pro-bowler despite the complaints, and hoodie was still COY. So that's consistent I'd say.

Merriman was suspended 4 games without pay for steroids (aka cheating), Belichick was personally fined half a million bucks and the Patriots lost a first round pick for spygate (aka cheating). I'd also say that is consistent.

It's a similar message the league is sending - cheating is going to hurt you, your wallet, and your team.

Fun fact that just didn't seem to fit in any other thread and really doesn't fit here either:

Shawn Springs and Terrell Owens have never in their careers played in different divisions, despite being on 7 different franchises combined.

Huh. Good call. I'm sure if he's healthy the Bills will put Shawn on TO. I guess it's also worth mentioning that TO and Randy Moss will be playing in the same game twice a year.

Sounds like they were destined to battle each other. It helps keep T.O.'s ego from completely exploding.

I just have this weird feeling we are going to land Peppers and it may be for a first round pick. Peppers and Haynesworth. Both on our Defense..WOW..But maybe I'm crazy to think there is a possibility.

Report: New England Patriots one of Julius Peppers' preferred destinations - ESPN

I highly doubt this.

I think that you could make the argument that they have a competent FO as a whole and it's not necessarily tied to just one person.

Peppers wants to only play on a 3-4 defense as a stand up end/OLB. He does not want to DE in 4-3 anymore. So.....

I'll never compare the two men as far as class goes, but it's the NFL. This isn't pee wee league.

Not sure if you remember this or not but back in 92 Bugel was the head coach of Arizona. We played them at home in a must win game and we just killed them. The score got out of hand and Gibbs sent in Cary Conklin. Well Conklin threw some passes and if I remember correctly he threw a TD pass well after the score was out of hand. I remember after the game Bugel was pissed at hell at Gibbs for doing that. Now is Gibbs any worse for what he did to his own close friend? Again I'm not comparing Gibbs' character to Bill B. My point is it's big boy business and if you stay in the NFL long enough at some point you're going to get beat down. That's just how it is.

Belichick kept Tom Brady for at least one drive into the 4th Qtr when the game was 45-0, and went for it on two 4th downs just to run up the score. To me those two things were very low character, especially coming from such a classless person as Belichick. You're right, this is not pee wee football, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I have to like what happened or easily forget it.
