Re: Wide Receiver & returner? Draft? FA?
I'm actually surprised that anyone would be surprised about ARE getting the axe. Given his slip in production last year at WR and in the return game, coupled with his $35M contract, he clearly had to go.

But I wouldn't say he had a slip in production as a wr. I think he caught 3 fewer passes last year than in 08. His punt returning went from bad to embarrassing, but I think he's still a dependable slot wr. He makes catches in the middle of the field and knows how to come back to the qb when the play breaks down. Plus he's a team player. I think he'll be solid for Pitt. again. |

Re: Wide Receiver & returner? Draft? FA?
Well his YPC was down to a paltry 10.6 and his TDs went to 0. And you already mentioned his production on returns was downright pathetic.
Hard to justify his contract with that production. We could get those types of numbers from a guy with 1/8 of the salary. Good guy, I'm sure he will be a good fit back with the Steelers, but I think it mostly came down to his bloated contract here. |

Sometimes we're too quick to write off players until they have had ample opportunity to reach their maximum potential. Keenan McKardell will do a much better job with our young receivers than did Stan Hixon. |

Perhaps . . . . It's meat-ball.

And for the record, I like kareem moore. Maybe only as a backup, but I think he's got some skill and is definitely worth hanging on to. |

Here's an answer to the question I posed in this thread:
Redskins Insider - WR Antonio Bryant schedules visit with Redskins I really don't like this guy, hopefully he's asking for ridiculous money & we send him back to cincy. |

Bruce Allen knows him well from Tampa, I wouldn't be surprised if he signs here. As long as the $$ is right I like the move.

Re: Wide Receiver & returner? Draft? FA?
I always hate signing former cowpokes, plus he's had attitude issues in the past. I'm all for signing a vet wr or even using a pick on one that can return punts as well, but I worry that his influence on the young uns would not be good.

Re: Wide Receiver & returner? Draft? FA?
Do we need to be reminded of how former pukes always tend to not work out for the Redskins? Deion is an obvious one, but Suisham is another, and there's more from the past...
