Re: Site improvements
I always use the front page to identify new threads whenever I am at work and just checking in. I use the real forums>locker room path when I want to go through stuff I haven't seen in a while. I losing the first post would be fine since uusually is tails off as it is too long to be displayed totally anyways. Maybe switch them to the right above the news wire in the same format as the current news wire display. Then lose the details for the news wire. I don't think many people care how many people have viewed a news wire thread or even who posted it enough for it to have any real estate on the home page. That'd leave the middle real estate for some new content. I think having recurring member articles is a good idea.

Re: Site improvements
I have two favorite talk forums, for different reasons. This one, and hailredskins.com. But I also enjoy college B-Ball, and talking B-Ball, especially ODU, and the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA)!
This forum is much friendlier, and feels like my family. Without a doubt, Matty, Smootsmack, and the other folks who run this show have a winner, and maintain control at all times! My hat's off! Matty brings out a great link once in a while to statistics, or some tidbit elsewhere! JoeCrisp has absolutely the best Camp coverage anywhere, including from Redskins.com, or Washpost! And it comes whenever we look for training camp discussions leading up to the regular season. Keep it coming, JoeC! CrazyCanuck has the best insight into the Cap, and doesn't post enough for me. We have more cap related questions apparently than he can investigate! Others here bring so much to the table, and the knowledge level is first rate. And sometimes, I actually agree with more than one poster! I see both sides of every issue it seems, whenever there is a slight disagreement! Some posters need to learn how to punctuate sentences, and check with the spelling police before their every post, however. The other forum, is more active, and full of Avatars???? that do not make sense, but as I said, it is very active, is much larger in subscribers, has a Politics and a Joke thread, and most of all, has the best Mock Draft link found anywhere on the planet! And Mocks at this time of the year, are Priceless! The older Original Warpath paper works better for my eyes, rather than any of the new walpapers, or the Bright Yellow over on hailredskins.com. Smilies are meaningless unless I'm looking for just the right touch, and this site doesn't have enough smilies. I've visited Ex Skins, and detest the colors. Hogs.net doesn't do anything for me either. If there were more subscribers and posters here, I'd hang out in the "pool", if I could, all day long, on weekdays. I have no time on weekends.

Re: Site improvements
This site is great and Matty you do a fantastic job of admin. I think you should have a fund raising drive, gather up a few bucks and make the site better with new technology from the funds received in the drive. Just a quick post about site enhancements. Hell if everyone pitched in $5, it would help tremendously to make this the best site for skins news, etc.

Re: Site improvements
I have found that there is not enough information about Ade Jimoh. Perhaps we could add a "Weekly Ade" section that has all of the highlights from the previous week. Perhaps The Ade would be willing to do a "live chat" once a week or so do share his wisdom and insight.
That's my 2 cents.... |

Re: Site improvements
As soon as I get hired full-time (hopefully) I will make a nice contribution to the site in monetary funds.

Re: Site improvements
We should have the "skin-a-thon"...could have naked chics and shit, would raise some serious coin for the site. j/k, but skin seems to bring in the cash these days.

Re: Site improvements
Matty - what about a front page place where you can just click view new posts. I know that's a tool I use a lot! Just an idea!

Re: Site improvements
matty...
the site is incredible...i get the busy server once a day, but haven't today...so i guess your tweaking is working thus far. one thing i would change... on the navigation bar at the top of the main page, you have a link for Forums, but it disappears once you move down into the forums themselves. is there a reason for this? i usually navigate at the top of the page, and like to see all the forums at once when i jump from forum to forum. not a big deal if it doesn't happen...
