Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)

We need to improve team speed on defense. DLineman that are disruptive and can get to the qb is a top priority.
We desperately need a top notch Left Guard to solidify our O-line.
We need a big blocking TE that can also be a threat in the passing game. We do not have one that can block. Bringing in a 6th O-lineman is not working.

Shit, Sam Bradford will get three years 40 million at least.

I was waiting on this. Thanks for the laugh. Dude is high as hell if he thinks offering KC 10 mil is going to fly.

I really thought the skins were better than this version of GB but I was wrong.

Just not there yet. Scot has work to do and I'm sure he is the first to admit it too.

HTTR and hopefully this is the start to building a championship caliber team

Somehow I think Scot most likely had a more realistic idea of this team's ceiling for 2015 than most of us.

If you remember back before the season began he was quoted as saying something like "We may not get a lot of wins this season but you will know you played the Redskins after the game"

Interested to see what happens with Knighton. Underperformed this year, but on the right deal he can be of value to us. It seemed like he was a huge factor in bringing the locker room together, we need that leadership. Also think we need to go another direction at RB. Love Alfmo - just a case of good but not good enough. I think the off-season checklist looks something like (more or less in this order):

MLB
Younger DL
Center
Left Guard
Corner
Blocking TE
Running Back
Tall Receiver

Really happy with what we got done this season and excited for next year. Ready to see Scot work his magic again this off-season. HTTR

Would love to see Rashad Ross become more that just a return man and be that guy that can take the top off a defense. We need that element in our offense and right now DJax is bringing it. It seemed like our offense really turned a corner when he got healthy.

Sign him to a one year contract, no more than 10 million, with the option to pickup an extended contract if he pans out.

He was okay this season, not fantastic, he didn't lead us to any wins over teams with a winning record, all of our wins came off of teams with 8-8 or worse records.

He may be a good QB, or he may turn out to be another dud, don't pin too much hopes on him just yet.

Why the heck would he go for that? He'd get snapped up in a heartbeat. I am hoping you were being sarcastic.

Knighton needs to lose 50 pounds. They need at least 2 good DL. The pass rush was inconsistent. There is still a long way to go - we cannot expect the NFC east to remain weak.

The safety position needs help as well....several vets cut.... wise spending on free agents. And obviously another good draft.

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)

The O line need improved which should definitely help the running game. I really think the Skins lack of a run game hurt them big-time vs GB. They also need to let Morris go and find a more dynamic RB who can also catch passes.

The D needs improving at most positions but the line especially needs improved. I agree Knighton need to lose weight, he's not much good only being able to play 2 plays before he's winded.

I gotta laugh a lil to hear folks criticizing the Oline...I mean yes kory l and leribus were god awful the second quarter together...but when u don't have a running game and the defense obviously doesn't respect it, rushing the passer becomes easy.

It wasn't like Alfmo was bad, he gashed them several times. But Dom capers clearly was ready for the skins offense gameplan.

And once we flashed in the first quarter, early second; adjustments were made by Green Bay and we were out coached to the tune of 35-7.

You're slipping, Schneed. After reading that idiot's posts, I was practically giddy waiting for a classic response from you. But no! You went easy on him and I'm sorely disappointed.

He's not a top tier QB, I'd hesitate before even putting him in tier two.

We won't be lost without him.
Lost?
We'd have no QB......period.
He's proved himself by far, do you not look at numbers and ratings and record books and stuff?

Re: Better days ahead. (Off season part 1 thread)

Sigh. I REALLY wanted that one last night, but as I was telling some friends, I would have said the same thing next week. Signs are pointing up with a traditional offense in place. Sometimes I forget just how many serious injuries we had all year too. A few pieces, another SM draft and we'll be in good shape.

Biggest thing I don't want is us f-ing around with Cousins. Lock him up so that's one less thing to worry about.
