It is the only thing going on with the franchise that will get a lot of clicks. All sports media sites have gone full retard with posting tweets and watering down content. Real reporting is a thing of the past.

The Skins official site post players tweets all the time and most of the time they are not football related or personal. That would bug me as a player.

the first preseason game is Cowboys and Jerry going into the HOF...think I gonna pass watching. But I still should be able to smell the pile of bullshit at the podium here in Richmond when that pasty white bastard speaks.

Well, I think most talking heads see both the Giants and Cowboys as stronger teams that, barring injury, will continue to improve - particularly the Cowboys b/c of the Dak/Zeke element (which also makes good press/clicks).

We have a really tough schedule logistically, lots of travel to the west coast and no extended home stands (most consecutive games at home is two late in the season, otherwise it rotates home/away throughout the season).

While we believe that we have improved our roster, the improvements are not the kind that jump out all at once. We are starting two new safeties - one who has yet to play it on a regular basis at the pro-level and one who, though highly drafted, has bounced through four teams in his first five years. Last year, generally, we lacked play makers on defense. On offense, we let our starting WR's walk and replaced them with a guy who couldn't get on the field last year and converted QB who most consider still very raw in the new position. Add in the offseason drama and this is a team that - to paraphrase the old adage - only a died-in-the-burgundy-wool fan could love.

Bottom line is that until the Skins show the ability to be consistent winners from year to year, they will always be picked to lose.

Joe, two winning seasons back to back though?

Two winning season with less than 10 wins. Backroom drama. Teams that appear much more stable and/or better run in the same division.

If we have a 10+ win record this season, maybe we get some respect. Otherwise, if you weren't a fan, would you bet any money on the Skins improving?

JoeBuzzkill, lol.

Jk, probably not. I think we get to 10 wins this year.

Skins are always an easy target to pick on, while the Cowboys and Giants are media darlings.

This time of year is when all the propaganda comes out about how great your team is doing in training camp.

Week One; hello reality check skins fans.

Ive heard from everyone...Cowherd, DP, and other "insiders" that the Eagles will be vastly improved due to Torrey Smith (whos looked absolutely terrible so far) and Ashlon Jeffery...and the Defense has already been made top 10 based on their D-Cord. Plus Carson Wentz...who was abysmal the second half...will be much better this year, just because.

Eagles will struggle to get to .500.

Re: Training Camp 2017

The Skins self destructed in a few games last year. Until we put together solid steady performances the media and fans will always put us in the wannabe category. We easily could have had a 10 win season last year, but we didn't.

I am optimistic about the year, but the Skins have to do it on the field every week to gain any real respect.

I am not going to pick anyone in preseason I never have .And with that IMHO.....the entire NFC East has improved greatly(or bigly for you chico).I could see the Eagles and I can see the Skins ,the Giants improved on Offense but to me "STILL" no freaking LBers and I am still not 100% bon the McAdoo bandwagon yet.As for Dallas I thought they over achieved last year.NFC East is wide open.

Re: Training Camp 2017

I agree on the Eagles. I think Kelly did a LOT of damage to their roster, basically leaving them with no D, no O-line and no depth anywhere. Jeffrey is at least a legit starter, T. Smith is pretty much a one trick pony.

Not sure why they get the love, but, whatever. We'll see how it all shakes out Sept. 1.

When it comes to the Skins, I think a lot of the talking heads are seeing the FO meltdown between Scot McC leaving and the KC debacle. It's the freshest things in people's minds. Most of their moves have been under the radar and the "Hey we are improved!" cry gets a bit old when it seems like the same old same old.

I am hopeful that this is good team, but it needs to stop the run, stop the long ball and punch it in inside the 20 consistently before I start buying into the pre-season trope that a corner has been turned.

Just turned on NFLN and saw that Reed is seeing a specialist for his toe. There's no timetable for his return. That doesn't sound good at all.
