Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Interesting read.
If this is true, it's a very honest approach to dealing with possible trade suitors... not sure this method ensures the maximum return the Rams could have had, but Snead was honest nonetheless. Last edited by itvnetop; 03-12-2012 at 04:57 PM. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Who is that and why is that video on here?
Anyway, I have been at the race track since Thursday. Not much in the way of time to get on the internet let alone the forum. I really don't know how I feel about the deal in all honesty. I do know I feel like giving up 3 1sts and this years #2, to move up four spots in the draft to the #2 overall pick seems A L O T to me. I do know we will get one of two QBs. Either RGIII or Luck if Indy goes with aforementioned RGIII. I honestly can't make up my mind on how I feel about RGIII as our QB. I get excited about what he may do and the photo of RGIII that Quake posted holding the Lombardi in a Redskins UNI pops into my head. BUT then the harsh reality of every other drafted Redskins QB that I had high hopes for in the past pops into my head, and the harsh reality that it has become to be a Skins fan. I would love for the move to work out, but I do know that what MS and BA have done is give away the last two years of their deals 1st round draft picks. They are willing to risk their jobs on one of two guys. Which in all likely hood will be RGIII. I hope RGIII is better in MS's eyes then Jay Cutler was. If not there will be a new HC and offense for him to learn from. For this to work it has to be MS, KS, Haslett, and BA all working together to build this team into a perennial contender for the division and the SB. There has to be progress towards those goals again and I hope this move gets us closer. I was in the minority (according to the polling) that wanted Manning and a rookie. I can get behind the kid, but I need to see what he's got in the NFL before I will be comfortable with this trade. This move is seen to me as a huge gamble, but from my POV I have no reference other than what I hear on the radio or TV. Alot of fluff and promotion of certain players and the media "falls in love" with players. I watched the kid some in his bowl game and he was unimpressive at times. When you are giving up 3 other possible 50% hit or miss players for one 50% possible hit or miss player the odds of winning are low. Of course now are these reports of the cap hit the next two years, some combination of 36mil. Nothing at this time is confirmed to being communicated to the Redskins. That could effect the success of RGIII early in his career, and hopefully it is not a long term effect. Of course this may be being reported prematurely with the actual number unknown and not so severe. That is a different topic, but the result of that ruling could have a long term effect on his career.

I'm going to quote this video because every one else is, in spite of the fact I haven't watched it.

SS - Nope. thanks for answering.
I know we gave up 3 1ts and a Second to get a 1st. 4-1 = 3. That is all you got out of that. Tell me where you are reading when I didn't properly communicate that I didn't understand that.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I know that but it is still three extra picks. You are talking about a high second round pick. We saw how excited we are all for Jenkins. There will be a player there that could make just as much of an impact as a 1st.

Or that 2nd could be Roger McIntosh.
