Unless he came over for the vet min. (which he'd never do), hellz NO!!!

We already have Campbell and Collins...and the other guy.

If the Colts released Payton Manning should the Skins make a run at signing him?

Unless there's major progress towards a CBA extension, we can't afford Hasselbeck without decimating our team at numerous other positions, cutting some of the vets we have and replacing them with bums or rookies.

The salary cap situation doesn't practically allow for it.

Schneed - I am not sure MH would get the break the bank contract though if everyone is as concerned about his back as people are saying. I will say though that I was just throwing a hypothetical out there to see what people would say given that Zorn and Hasselback have a close relationship and with Seattle getting a new coach maybe the team goes in a new direction - that's all.

Also, with regards to your post on not being able to sign MH without decimating the other parts of our roster - wouldn't this also be applicable to all these other threads on the Warpath about signing Julius Peppers, Jordan Gross and other big time unrestricted/restricted/soon to be franchised players as well? I guess I just look at some other posts and see "lets sign a big time player that would fill a need" - but at the same time wouldn't the team that that player is currently on like Carolina with Peppers make the financial committment as well (unless it is the Steelers teams like Carolina are not going to let their important lineman just get up and walk without a fight. Also signing a Gross or Peppers (if we wanted to part with picks if he is franchised) would also cause some major financial stress to the cap I would think - right?

Personally, I wish the Skins would just make a committment to build through the draft - even if it meant some bad years. Let the team flush away some of it major contracts while it trys to get younger and then use FA to bolster a position here and there. I liked when the Skins traded down last year to get more picks - although I wish they used some of the picks on more need areas like DE and the offensive line more.

Heck yes - although the Colts are going to cut Harrison to deal with Peyton's massive contract.

Only if we can get their offensive line too.

If we do not upgrade the line and had Hasselbeck in at QB, he'd get killed, he's not as mobile as Campbell.

NO. If he can't block or tackle, the Skins don't need him.

Yes, if the Skins had Manning this year they'd have easily been in the playoffs.
