Re: Around the NFL Week 16
Teams should definitely raise a stink with the way GB handled Rodgers. One week he’s good enough to play, the next he’s back on IR because they were out of the playoff hunt?
Sounds like they violated the “spirit of the rule” at the very least. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 16
Exactly! What was the advantage of putting him on IR anyway other than to be able to activate another player in his place? Just let him be the 2nd or 3rd string qb for the last few games.

Re: Around the NFL Week 16
They definitely broke the rules and if Goodell lets them get away with it or just slaps them on the wrist then thats just another reason so many people hate him{including me}he's so arbitrary when it comes to dealing out punishments.I sure wish Jerrah would have got his way and got that dude fired

All I am saying is that if this had happen in NE with Brady all hell would be breaking loose!

Buccaneers’ Chris Baker incited locker room shouting match following Panthers game – ProFootballTalk
He's an ok-to-good DL, he's fun, but he's a locker room nightmare. Here's one I don't mind that we've let go!

Around the NFL Week 16
Quote:
Listening to Andrew Brandt this morning he basically said teams do this all the time to different extents. Teams have to submit paperwork to the league office as part of the IR process including medicals. Sure there are ways around everything but after hearing his take I don’t think the Packers did anything truly egregious or something that every team hasn’t done in the past. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 16
Yeah well there is alot of that going around this year. Question on GB, could Rodgers choose not to sign back with GB ,I mean a lot of teams would kill for him and he could get a raise, is that possible ?

Re: Around the NFL Week 16
I don't think Baker really had the option to stay. I think the team didn't make him a realistic offer. I can't find a link but remember this being discussed on Cooley's radio show.
