Same for me just a multi-vitamin. Protein shake after the sculpt workout too.

Re: P90x

I have went through P90X once and I am on my second time doing it. It definitely works! The biggest thing I stress when doing P90X is to FOLLOW THE NUTRITION GUIDE! You don't have to follow down to a 'T' but you DO need to try to stick within the calorie in take and the types of foods that P90X suggests during each phase. I lost 20 pounds pretty quickly doing it, and gained muscle! I also developed ab muscles that I have NEVER had or at least haven't had since I played high school football (which has been many many years ago!) If you want to get in shape within just three months, P90X will DEFINITELY do it for ya! It was money well spent in my opinion!

I'm looking forward to bumping up to the P90X when I'm done with the Power 90, but this thing is kicking my butt as it is. I can only imagine what the X is like.

Yeah I didn't know there was just a Power 90 until after I had purchased P90X. I am interested in trying out that Insanity workout system beachbody.com has out now. It's about the same price as P90X, but it looks quite intense, and it's supposed to be a 60 day program. Might be a good program to do after the 90 day P90X program has ended...just to mix things up a bit! The key is to keep your body guessing!

Re: P90x

mlmdub130, how's that ab ripper treating you? Or the power yoga?

I still can't get through all 100 reps of the ab ripper.

the power yoga is no joke the first time i tried the runner to the cresent to the warrior i thought i strained every muscle in my body

the ab's aren't too bad but the last routine of the full body crunch is a killer, i feel great today that day off was much needed

overall i'm really happy with the workout it's the right amount of time and it's not as crazy as some of the stuff you do in the "x"

i might have to get a shake of some kind when i got to gnc tomorrow i feel like i'm burning way more calories than i'm taking in, i wish i could follow the nutritionplan, but i just try to stay low fat, i really need to just cut out the alcohol for a week or two.....doubtful

GNC is a place to go to spend three times more than you need to. They mark everything up horribly, probably because of their policy where they take returns of opened, nearly empty products if you claim they didn't work after using it all.

Yeah when i was buying everything i needed for p90x i went to a lot of body building type forums and everyone rips on GNC. I went to Costco and bought tons of high protien food, engery bars, and shakes. I also bought some cretine and "Jac3d" which is susposed to give me engery online.

Someone gave me a Magic Bullet the other day and i got EAS Protien Shake stuff from Costco which is susposed to be pretty good. Ive been told to hold off on starting p90x because i got a lot of broken bones in my face, but i think im gonna try my first lesson this weekend and see how it goes. Maybe just do the stretching stuff a few times to start off.

I have one of these (and a blender) for protein shakes. Works great:

I'm holding off on P90X from a busted arm and ensuing surgery with plate and screws, but I have been working with some thicker resistance bands and getting things back in shape. Hopefully later in the year I can try the program.

GNC has great products, but they are so overpriced it's almost comical. Good play going to Costco. Also, Vitamin Shoppe is a good place. They have the same selection as GNC and are definitely cheaper.

This is another good place for supplements, but the name makes you feel like you're buying some serious roids, lol:

Re: P90x

You should try to track your calories, you don't want to go too low or you won't have the energy you need.

Cutting out alcohol is tough man, I've weened myself over to light beer. The tough part for me is always staying away from the snacks once I've had a few. I'm getting there though, it always seems easier to stay good with the diet once the warmer weather rolls around.

i'm down to pretty much only chianti, the diet will for sure be easier in the summer but thats when it's hard not to have a really good pils while you are bbq-ing

Re: P90x

There's also another program after the Power 90 called the Power 90 Master Series. I might actually try that after I wrap up the Power 90.

Insanity looks, well, insane.
