Bashaud Breeland kicked off field by Jay Gruden during walk-through

Heard Bree is first one on the field this afternoon for 3'oclock practice...hopefully that fire got lit this morning.

Bree got a lot to prove this year

To be honest I'm not really impressed with Norman either. He is not worth the money and I don't see how they re-sign him after this season. He plays hard and all, but he makes way too many stupid mistakes with flags. He is a system corner, not a man up corner. He simply doesn't have the top end speed to play one on one with the big dogs. i just hope the pass rush is better so these guys in the secondary don't have to cover very long.

maybe the skirmish will get breeland going . . . Source (ESPN):

Quote:
Corner Bashaud Breeland intercepted quarterback Kirk Cousins, stepping in front of receiver Ryan Grant. It would have been a pick six.

Re: Training Camp 2017

Per Keim Oline information- Rookie report: Undrafted free agent guard Kyle Kalis continues to work ahead of Arie Kouandjio with the second offensive line. Kalis has been more consistent, both in one-on-one and full-team work. Kalis hasn't been perfect, but he has shown good technique and vision – he did a nice job seeing and picking up a blitzing corner in full-team work Monday. Kalis has a long way to go to earn a roster spot, but he's at least opened eyes early in camp.

Yep, I wont be surprised to see him grab the starting position sooner than later.
Breeland is being a dick in a few different ways.

We were better off drafting another cornerback for the money we gave him. We might have been able to sign Kirk then. Guy is starting material, not the shutdown guy that he was hyped up to be.

Re: Training Camp 2017

norman played about as well as a corner could have in an overall poor team defense. I thought he was solid.

I was listening to one of the sports talk shows a few days ago and they were talking up Kalis. Basically they were saying he's not only making the team, but could be pushing for a starting spot my mid season. That's how impressive he's been. I thought that was a bold statement considering there hasn't even been one pre season game.

I agree, I thought he played very well. I think people still associate lots of picks as the biggest indicator of being good. The defense this year is supposed to allow for him to make more big plays.

Re: Training Camp 2017

I am not into picks as an indicator of being a good DB, and I thought he did a good job, just was overhyped. Guy was made out to be like Revis during his prime just about. You do make a good point with the rest of the D being suspect. Let's hope that a bit of help will make Josh better!!!!!!!

Also, as far as picks. After he hurt his hand early in the season, he dropped 4 or 5 picks that I think he catches this year.

I disagree.
He was our best player on D last year.
He isn't a track star but he is one of the better CB in the league.
I think this is fair review of him. Year-end cornerback rankings: Richard Sherman lands at No. 1 - NFL.com

I'm excited to see what he can do with a pass rush and competent safeties.

If Kirk signs his extension after the season, he'll be the first to go. Regain some cap space.

I think someone should explain this to Breeland. He doesn't necessarily need to be better than Norman this year to be next years #1 CB, he just needs to show he can be a better value that can play as #1 CB. It's a contract year for both of them right? Maybe he could get out of his own head if he knew that.
