Re: What did you do at work today?

I've been thinking that theres a lot of useless jobs in today's economy.

Tim Tebow's defense attorney, John Madden's pilot, Jay Leno's driver, Michael Vick's dog walker. The economy has been rough.

Finding a job has been difficult for me. Luckily I have 2 jobs right now. The interviews I go to, I hear the same thing. "Weve gotten thousands of resumes so consider the fact that you got an interview a compliment and sign that someone here has taken an interest in you.".

I have an interview coming up next week, they literally had one time slot open for me.

Go to the federal government website. I forget the exact website name. In maryland there were 463 jobs of varying skills. They all pay near double what the same job would land you at the state govt or private sector level. 40k to work 32hrs/parttime nights at the IRS front desk.

Federal pay is unbelievably high and most of the jobs sound like some made up position where yoiu just sit at a desk for 40 hrs.

Federal govt employees have it made. Wish i knew that when i was in college.

USAJOBS - The Federal Government’s Official Jobs Site

Some people like working for the government, some people hate it. I'm a fed, and I like it. I don't have to put up with all the corporate BS I had to when I worked for a contractor (Booz Allen Hamilton - good company to work for, though).

Re: What did you do at work today?

I worked for 2 hours this morning before realizing we had the day off.

Good thing today was a work from home day, or I totally would have wasted a trip in and back. lol

I've got yesterday, today, and tomorrow off. Doing my best to not even think about work. Feels nice.

Re: What did you do at work today?

My company hates MLK and dreams so I have to work today. But I did just play some post-lunch doubles ping pong in our break room that basically just ended up with us trying to hurt one another with shots to the head, so that was fun.

Re: What did you do at work today?

Same here AMD. Came in to work at regular time today, I'm leaving at regular time today, and I've done nothing but work so far. So far I've stocked the order, received the order, straightened up the receiving area, unloaded about 50 tires off the tire rack that are about to be sent back, and helped out here and there. Now I've got nothing much to do for the rest of the day so I'm going to clean up and organize.

That choice was especially hilarious because it seems like EVERY TIME someone includes clip art, there is some lady in an 80s purple suit.
