Injuries going into Tampa

After the Gibbs PC and comments from Bubba Tyer, it looks like this....

"I wouldnt expect Springs to do much in the way of practice"-Tyer

Springs is the main concern, and I'm going to go with the assumption that he probaboly will be very limited to action this weekend. I wish he was in there, but with a leg injury like that, he might not even be helping out there.

Rogers is expected to play. "I'll be out there, no doubt"- Carlos Rogers

Ade Jimoh is expected to play as well, and the irregular heartbeat he had is somthing that is actually common for him, so he should be playing too.

I know Springs is our best corner, but overall, this is good news in my opinion.

I'm still hoping for a miracle with Springs and I just hope Carlos can come in healthy and cover Galloway. Or at least try to fade him into the middle of the field to meet Mr. Taylor.

Re: Injuries going into Tampa

if Taylor can put a good hit on him early and set the tone that should prove to be huge as he tries to make other big plays. We dont want to see Galloway running free in the secondary all day

Re: Injuries going into Tampa

On Monday Nite Live right now on Comcast Portsnet, Shawn Springs said, "It's the playoffs and Im gonna try my hardest to get out on the field." He said he'd know more about his MRI tomorrow, and would know more about his playing status on wednesday. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but I'll have to bet he'll at least give saturday a try.

Re: Injuries going into Tampa

so Jimohs injury was an irregular heart beat? in another thread on here it said he had a broken rib that punctured a lung.

Re: Injuries going into Tampa

If Pierson Prioleau, Dimitri Patterson, Morton and Walt Harris playing the nickel are in the game, they will be fine as long as they follow their assignments. I was very concerned about Shawn Springs's coverage on several plays due to his nagging injuries. It's best that we have healthy CB's who can step up like they did after he and Jimoh went out with injuries. The interesting thing is, the Redskins led by Sean Taylor have been punishing a lot of players and leaving them by the waste side. Reggie Brown was hit in the third quarter. He got up limping and I can't recall him catching another ball. Oh well, at least he caught all of his TD's against a Superbowl bound team.

Re: Injuries going into Tampa

the description of springs' injury sounds like something that even drugs won't help on game day. something that bad would probably hurt rather than help- he wouldn't even finish the first quarter, much less stunt his recovery.

the guys that are definites will get the reps this week. if springs miraculously recovers, he'll have rested the entire week.

They dont seem too bad, most of them give us some kind of credit and realize that the game will be close. For it being a bucs site I expect them to be homers and pick themselves to win, but I am not sure that they will win, just as I am not sure we will win. But I am a redskins fan so of course I think that we have a very good shot at winning. I think that there is a lot more in our favor than theres. I dont see Cadilac being to hard to stop, he is a smaller back and our D does pretty good against smaller backs. And with Taylor being healthy I think we will be able to stop Galloway. The bucs are kind of likes us, you take Galloway and the Caddy out they are spent. Yeah they have Clayton, but what has he done this year? Just like if they stop Moss and Portis we are pretty much screwed, I know we have Cooley and that may just be the deciding factor....

We have the "Cooley" factor!!!!

No these guys are dumb, if read some of the posts carefully. They are citing the magazine Maxim for NFL stuff, and their insult to a Redskins fan on the site was "go back to your tepee".

Re: Injuries going into Tampa

At least Rogers is coming back, if we went into this game with both Springs and Rogers on the bench we'd be really hurting.
