Play of the regular-season....
This was somthing I was thinking about in bed, so decided to make a thread about it. I dont know if anyone could turn it into a poll, but.... what play do you think was your favorite play of the season. I'm sure alot of them will be the Brunell to Moss at Dallas. Taylor's play yesterday, theres FINALLY so much to choose from, so I was just wondering what everyones favorite play was.
My Personal favorite, I know will probaboly not be on the list of many. But going all the way back to the Seattle game, when Josh Brown lined up to make the game winning feild goal for the Seahawks, right after Brunell threw that pick off Betts hands. When you see the ball hit the pole and the crowd behind the feild goal posts going absolutley insane, I just felt like it was a great moment not just in the season, but one of my favorite moments over the last few years.... Here's the rest of the plays I think we could consider (i'll take one from each game)... Chicago- Griffin's forced fumble, recovery to win the game Dallas- Brunell to Moss , Taylor v. Crayton Seattle- Browns Miss - Novacks Make Denver- Cooleys TD to put us in position to tie KC- Moss Screen San Fran- Quarters 1-3 NYG-Next Question Philly- Clarks INT Tampa Bay- Salave'a Forced Fumble on Caddilac Oakland- Arringtons goaline stop San Diego- Moss TD or Springs INT St. Louis - Portis 47 yrd TD Ariz- Brown 91 kick return Dallas- Any of the TD's, Washington's INT NYG- Ramsey to Moss Philly- Portis TD run, Taylor TD Whats everyone elses favorite, this shoudl be fun and lighten the nerves going into Saturday.

Santana's second TD, in Dallas. Still gives me chills just thinking about it.

Re: Play of the regular-season....
I agree...the second Moss TD against Dallas in the MNF game has to be the play of the season for us. Perfectly thrown pass for the win.
My favorite Defensive sequence came against the Eagles when Daniels forced the fumble and ST scooped it up and ran it in. Best special teams play was Antonio Brown taking it to the house. Best hit was Sean Taylor on Patrick Crayton in the Dallas MNF game. |

Re: Play of the regular-season....
S.T.'s fumble recovery at Philly really stands out to me. Last year, we only had one defensive touchdown. This year we had 2. It really stood out to me because it showed the hustle he has. I though initially that Marshall had recovered the ball, and that the play would be overturned because it was a forward pass, but S.T's recovery showed that he was smart in recognizing it for what it was.

Re: Play of the regular-season....
Moss in Dallas without a doubt. It was great because I was watching the game with a Dallas fan, and he was talking alot of shit. His expression was priceless after the game. By far the most shocking game/plays of the year, atleast for the average skins fan. And it also showed the world how shitty of a coverage man Roy Williams is. I still think Taylor is much better than him, and I think he has a better future, but that is another time and another debate.

Both TD catches in Dallas by Moss. You can't choose one without the other.

It has to be the moss TDs. The second one was somewhat more special as the first one was just like WTF to dallas fans. The second was just ****. Wooooooo i love those plays.
http://gqflippimp.brinkster.net/filedrop/3bigplays.wmv Most memorable defense play. The one that got us into the playoffs officially. Taylor TD I was just yelling Playoffs!!! PLAYOFFS!!! Special Teams Play: Brown TD |

Re: Play of the regular-season....
Dallas game Brunell to Moss. Hands down. First one was 4th and 15. Great video BIGSKIN!!! Never forget that moment. Me and my brother and good friend Johnny Mac. Outside on the porch waking up the neighbors. Drunk, hysterical and the same night they brought Aikman, Emmit and Irvin into their 'ring of fame'. MNF Gibbs vs. Parcells and shocking them. Perhaps one of the greatest moments in Redskins history EVER!!! Gibbs is back!!!

Re: Play of the regular-season....
i gotta agree and ive been around for awhile.those 3 plays rank right up there with c taylor burning dallas in the nfc championship game,d grant returning an interception against dallas for a touchdown,d green punt return for a touchdown against the bears, riggins going 40+ yards against the dolphins ,and coach gibbs coming back.some of the younger guys have missed alot of history.

Re: Play of the regular-season....
Brunnell to Moss in little D #1 were two of the greatest moments in my life as a Redskins fan not only because of how sensational the plays were but because of who the skins were playing and how much the skins had been on the wrong side of all the breaks in the past 8 years against the cowpies. I mean when those plays go up into the top five moments of skins victories over the cowboys in such a heated rivalry, those r some pretty damn good plays.

Re: Play of the regular-season....
The two bombs to Moss against Dallas are 1 and 1a plays of the year for me.
Outside of the Super Bowl wins, that game is the greatest Skins win I've ever witnessed. |

Re: Play of the regular-season....
The Brunell to Moss bombs changed the future of this franchise, and redeemed Joe Gibbs and Mark Brunell in an instant. At least for me.

that first TD catch gave us and the team true on-the-field HOPE for the very first time this season. hope of a having a real playmaking offense this year. not to mention gave us enough hope to try that SECOND TD. oh yeah, and that first TD was 4th and 15!

Re: Play of the regular-season....
The 2 Moss Tds, as everyone is saying, without a doubt. Most important 2 plays for the Franchise since 91, in my opinion. Remember--up to that point, we were all thinking, "same deal as last year--all D, no offense." And then Santana took over. And kudos to the underappreciated Brunnell for making those amazing throws. Looking again, they are just perfect.
THose TDs allow us to sweep Dallas, make the playoffs, and change the attiude for the whole season. Yeah, I know--it's just one part of the overall effort that Gibbs and co have made this year, but sometimes it requires a play or two to convince everyone that we can do it. :headbange
