Am sure the team will be busy today trying to sign undrafted talent everywhere, especially at d-line.

you need speed at end, and size at DT. You need the DT to be quick though, a lot of the big guys cant pop up quick enough so the otackle gets their hands on them first and pushs them back. They dont have to run 40 yards but they need to jump up and move 5 yards quickly.

Hi... new to the these forums
I may be wrong here but the impression i get from these linemen is that the redskin's defense is going to be a hybred of the 46. I think that the whole purpose of our D line is just to occupy offensive linemen and allows the very talented core of linebackers put a Lot of pressure on the quarterback. We have all seen what Lavar can do from the weak side and it makes me very excited as a fan. |

Well lets just hope that one of the undrafted guys make it. Then if we can pick up a d-lineman before the seasons starts we could be ok. Hopefully the FO has something up their sleves for the d-line help.

i hope more than 1.. Gibbs did garuntee that at least 1 will make the probowl. Thats a pretty hefty garuntee. I'de like to see some of the scouting reports for guys like tom brady who wenrt drafted untill later. I'm also excited about some of these o linemen that buges though so highly of.

Hey, Verm.
I don't know if we've got the D-line to play the 4-6, but I do think we'll be looking to use the D-line to keep blockers off Lavar and the other LBs. We obviously need to generate our pass rush from there, given who we've got. THere was a discussion of the 4-6 on this site a few weeks back, so maybe I've got it wrong. There were some nice links to 4-6 info, if I recall. Maybe it's archived? Size in the middle, speed on the edges, Taylor all over!!!

Before folks here fall into the trap of annointing this guy as a sure-fire Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2023 after his 14 consecutive pro-bowl seasons with the Redskins, please remember that he played on a UCLA team that lost its last 6 games in a row (first UCLA team in history to lose 6 in a row) and lost a bowl game to Fresno State.
There is a reason he is an undrafted free agent. The odds are 50-1 he won't play a down in a regular season game for the Skins and 20-1 that he won't play a down in a regular season game for anyone. Delay judgment until you see him play against NFL level competition (not the second half of pre-season games against other guys who will get cut) before getting too excited here. |

I think Gibbs was saying that the way the league is, and especially with this coaching staff, the potential for at least one undrafted FA to develop into a pro-bowl player is there. But I don't think he had anyone in particular in mind.
