Ray Edwards-DE Purdue

This mock draft has us taking Ray Edwards in round 2.

What's the story on him?

"The Redskins have a need at linebacker, but will be willing to take a risk with their first pick. Edwards is skilled, but a problem child." Problem child?? Boilermaker.wtf is a boilermaker? I don't think gibbs will "take a risk" with a "problem child" boilermaker.

I am a Boilermaker fan and this guy is a very good pass rusher that played on a terrible team in West Lafeyette, IN in 05. He plays smaller than he is like a lot of good pass rushing DE. His defense was atrocious so bad that at one point they benched there 2 starting CB's for back up WR's late in the season. He had 8 sacks this year. I don't know much about his character but he was a very good player on a very bad team.

I read he ran a 4.86 in the combine and he's like 6'5 273.

FYI -A boilermaker is a dude who makes boilers. Like the boiler Willie the janitor might work on.

A boilermaker is a delicious alcoholic beverage for rugged, handsome men such as myself and Chuck Norris.

I was eating at a diner with my pal Seabass and two other friends once. Some dumbass in another booth hit Seabass in the head with a salt shaker. In order to avoid certain death the jackass and his pumpkin pied haircutted friend offered to buy us a round of beers. Seabass, being the manly man that he is, said "make it 4 boilermakers" to which I smiled. However, these two jackasses actually stuck us with their tabs and escaped in a 1984 sheepdog! If you know where these two dumbies are, please meet Seabass in a gas station bathroom at 2:15am.

he's okay, but 4.86 is really kinda slow. Hopefully better values will be available.

4.8 forty is kinda slow?for a big man like that, thats a pretty good time.the only thing i need to know is,can he rush the passer?(and of course, stay out of jail)

4.86 is on the slower side for a DE. the fastest are 4.4, most fall in the 4.65-4.75 range. If he's super bulked up he could rush with strength instead of speed though. I haven't watched much of him in college.
