Who's Improved Their Team the Most? (Other than Skins)
I know we're not done with free agency and we haven't had the draft yet but looking around the rest of the league what team have you been most impressed with so far by their offseason moves
I'm going to say the Rams. I was a bit surprised they went with another offensive guy when they hired Scott Linehan. But he's a sharp young guy and nice move to pick Jim Haslett as their D-Coordinator. He's good in that role and has experience as a coach to help out Linehan. Then they go out and strengthen their defense with three solid pick-ups in Glover, Chavous, and Witherspoon. Offensively, they've got some studs in Holt, and Jackson. A solid, if maybe slightly declining, vet in Isaac Bruce. Up and comers in McDonald and Curtis. And with Frerotte now backing up Bulger it means they don't have to turn to Fitzpatrick in an emergency. Plus, they still have Marshall Faulk A lot of people are jumping all over the Arizona bandwagon because they signed EJ. But I think the Cards will still be playing catch up to the Rams who, in my opinion, have moved closer to the Seahawks this past month. So what do you guys think? Which team has most impressed you this offseason (other than the Redskins)?

Re: Who's Improved Their Team the Most? (Other than Skins)
the cards only made 1 move, and a 2nd round draft pick could have been used to give them an RB that's good enough (leon washington/M drew) and then they could spend the rest of that money on an offensive line (which they still don't have, despite ghastly amounts of cap room).
I'd say the rams, followed by the browns. The browns mainly went after cleveland natives (bentley, Ted W, zastudil, joe J) and they got some old guys that won't actually be around when they finally start winning games (McG, Ted W). They did, however, get some OL guys that are impact players and edwards and winslow hould be healthy. Frye is still a huge question mark, and letting bryant go may have been a mistake (production wise, not considering the locker room). |

Re: Who's Improved Their Team the Most? (Other than Skins)
I kinda see how some say the Rams, but I think that the Browns vastly improved there team. The Rams always had decent players, where the Browns never really had that great of players... I think that Romeo C. has a plan in place and the Browns are letting him carry it out. I think that the Browns brought in the right players to help develope Frye. I mean its no secret that Joe J. is far from a team cancer, which will help out a young QB and a young WR... Just my thoughts...

Rams and Browns for the reasons stated above but don't underestimate the Culpepper deal in Miami.. They were good QB play away from making the playoffs last year. With Chambers and McMichael the Phins have some weapons in the passing game.. I think TO would make them a Super Bowl contender but with just the addition of Culpepper they are at least a playoff team.

WoW! Tough question!
Can I think about it until Post-2006-season? I'll have a better answer then! (I'm getting too old to keep up with other teams, I think I'll stick with watching the moves from this one!)

For me it's the Dolphins. Adding Culpepper to that team makes them a serious threat to run deep into the playoffs. And it only cost them a 2nd rounder to do it.

im gonna say the browns myself. i think if youre talking overall improvement they made some good strides if only for this year (due to some of the aging talent they signed).

Re: Who's Improved Their Team the Most? (Other than Skins)
I'm going with the Browns as well. The Rams were probably a healthy Marc Bulger away from being a playoff contender. The Fins were a QB away from making the playoffs. But the Browns were a million miles away from any hope of a playoff appearance. With all of their FA additions, they have to be considered a wildcard contender. They've strengthened both lines and I love the addition of Jurivicious. Whether they have a QB that can get the job done remains to be seen, but I think the moves they made are certainly in the right direction.

Re: Who's Improved Their Team the Most? (Other than Skins)
I think Miami has improved their team the most not just by adding a happy Daunte but by bringing in both Capers and Mularkey. Both guys are respected and I haven't read too much about either one being difficult to work with. I hope Daunte realizes that as good as Chambers is he's not the alley-oop receiver that Randy Moss. He has great hands and he'll go get it but he won't outjump everyone around him.
Minnesota seems to be on the right track. Their O-line needed the biggest overhaul. Same with Arizona. Has Jacksonville done anything yet? San Francisco is doing a good job playing the part of Redskins farm club. Thanks for getting Lloyd and Carter ready for the Big Show! |

The Bears would have been the most improved team, if we would have let them sign anyone they wanted.

The Browns by far, in my opinion. They should be very competitive next year.
