Taylor with a Twist??
I'm sure many of you have already read the article on Sean Taylor's case being reviewed by the State. I really see this in Taylor's favor.
The article doesn't give any details about what exactly they are reviewing, but I was wondering where you guys potentially see this leading? |

I've been reading everything from plea bargin to another delay. I'm going with the former.

Re: Taylor with a Twist??
I'll bet the change is that they drop the gun charge. Purely speculation on my part here, but I'm guessing they don't have the evidence to show that he actually fired or pointed a gun at anybody. But they can probably still get him on simple assault or something. I think Malcolm's right, plea bargain is in the works here. I'll bet the sentence is community service and a fine. If any jail time (which I highly doubt) he'll be out in time for the season like Jamal Lewis was.

Re: Taylor with a Twist??
Here's my thinking: It's in his favor because I think the prosecutor has attempted to give him the max sentence. So all they want to do at this point is go to trial and prosecute based on the so called evidence.
Perhaps at this stage, they all looking at everything and determining if it's good to even proceed. |

I think the fact that the state allowed so many continuances indicates that they really don't have that strong of a case, but I'm not lawyer...

As for the continuances, they are more likely the product of ST seeking them than the prosecution. All individuals have a constitutional right to a speedy trial......so most of the time the continuance is requested by the defense (or at least agreed to by the defense.........otherwise, they can oppose the continuance on due process grounds).

Re: Taylor with a Twist??
They "changed" the case when they seperated the assault charge into 3 seperate, which is purely a negotiating tactic. I hope a change would include more than consolidating back to 1.
