Ade Jimoh at nickle
On the chance we don't get a corner in free agency or the draft what about Ade getting the job? People say he has the physical ability and he can tackle I would think playing in the NFL for 4 years would give him some ability to play nickle. Also there is preliou(?) who played some corner last year and seemed to do a pretty good job. I think we should get Deqwell(?) Jackson in the draft to solidify our linebacking core.
p.s. why are there so many names in the NFL that are so hard to spell?

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
Well, from what I've read, some coaches think he's ready.

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
I don't feel comfortable with him at the nickel, maybe the dime, but not the nickel...Then again Walt Harris had the physical ability and at the same time couldn't cover...maybe this will be an upgrade but I'd rather bring someone else in.

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
I totally agree, I am not sure I feel comfortable with Jimoh at nickel. He has really improved, but is more of a dimeback to me. You also have to think that that the nickel corner needs to serve as an occasional starter when the inevitable injuries occur. I am not sure that I feel comfortable with Jimoh as a starter.
Additionally, signing a nickel corner gives us a lot more depth, because I definitely do not know enough about Christian Morton and our other depth corners to feel OK about them for a whole season. |

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
I wonder why everyone speaks so highly about his cover skills...I remember when Champ was her he stated that he was a better athlete than himself. This was before he started getting reps and giving up touchdowns. Now the coaches are showing this same confidence...Maybe he's one of those guys that practices well because I'm not seeing it on gamedays.

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
He's plays like a special teamer right now. There's a difference between covering kicks and covering WRs. I think he has the athletic ability but not the coverage skills.

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
Ade played well in situations last year towards the end of the season...I think he is ready to go to the next level and if GW thinks he is, then I am all for it. Even with him stepping up, there is a need for depth in the secondary to compensate for injuries that are going to happen as the season moves on.

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
Ade would be a very good nickel back, espicially when put in a system where they sometimes play three safeties on third and long. The only problem is if Springs or Rogers gets hurt, I'm not sure he's ready to start.

Re: Ade Jimoh at nickle
Ade is an amazing athlete. he was just green coming from Utah ST.
I though he played better than harris last year. anyone can sit back 15 yards off the line of scrimmage and not get burned. I was at the Arizona game when ade played alot. He lined up against Fitzgerald(Probowler) man to man on the line! he did very well. but, we still need another corner, springs hasnt played a full season yet. |
