Anyone been to a Redskins game at Dallas?

My dear friend, former-college-house-mate, and fellow Skins fanatic wants to have his bachelor party in Dallas (we both currently live in Los Angeles). The reason he requested this venue is because he wants the festivities to coincide with a game in enemy territory. What should I expect? I've seen the Skins in Arizona, San Diego and San Francisco (i.e the least-threatening stadiums in the world) and I don't know what to expect. I wouldn't go out of my way to start shit but I would most definitely fly my colors.

Re: Anyone been to a Redskins game at Dallas?

I've been to a couple of them, no big deal.. A couple of the guys that I go on a football trip on each year are Cowboy fans. The worst one I saw there is detailed here from the Washington Post:

Nov. 16, 1997
At Texas Stadium
L, 17-14
The Redskins were in total control for the first 55 minutes of a game they absolutely had to win when the Cowboys jump-started another miraculous comeback. With Dallas backed up on their 3-yard line with 5:48 left, quarterback Troy Aikman engineered a 97-yard touchdown drive, plus a two-point conversion, to pull the Cowboys even at 14-14. A devastating three-and-out on the Redskins' next possession precipitated a dismal 28-yard punt by Matt Turk, which gave the Cowboys prime field position. Twenty-eight yards later, Richie Cunningham booted a 42-yard field goal with four seconds remaining to give the Cowboys another unlikely win. The loss was symbolic of the maddening disasters that befell the Redskins during the Norv Turner era, and they would finish out of the playoffs once again that season.

Never been.
This year's @ Dallas game will be huge though. Week 2 Sunday night national game. I wouldn't be afraid to wear colors to the game. Not like Philly where you got toothless drunks drying to hit ya with a crowbar or something. Dallas fans are honestly for the most part rational nice skewed people. Unfortunately places like Philly people can't differienciate between reality and pro sports. Too bad they were pathetic last season. And will be again for the next 3 seasons!!! GO TO THE GAME and get on TV in Redskins colors!!! Joe Gibbs gets Gatorade bath #2!!!!

I have been to a few. No big problems. I always wore my stuff. Be prepared for a lot of anti-skin BS. Just the usual thing. You won't get attacked or anything!

I would assume that the skewed part, like cult members. Good people, just a little confused.

p.s. I have it on good authority that dallas fans actually aren't 'good people'

I was at that game as well and it was a real kick in the teeth. Aikman is the most accurate quarterback I ever saw. Also attended in 1999 and 2000 so all three trips were losses.
Cowboys fans at Texas Stadium are pretty laid back (excepting the odd drunk, often a female) and generally keep all the taunting fairly good-natured. Of course, they were beating us with frightening regularity in those days so that may have served to keep them calmer. In addition, all aspects of culture are less civilized today than they were even a few years ago so maybe you should go and then tell US what it's like.

The ultimate example of how ruthless (and classless, I might add) the Philly fans are is how they treated one of their own players, Donovan McNabb, when the team drafted him.

They were upset that the team didn't go after Ricky Williams. Looking back, it's too bad they didn't have a chance at Tim Couch.

The best way to shut up the occassional odd-drunk female is a little good ol' domestic violence. Wolfpack style.

Yes, I remember this game. On the game-tying drive, Aikman completed something like a 4th and 18 pass to Michael Irvin with Chris Dishman covering. That was when Dishman and Darrell Green were on a rampage, shutting down just about everybody -- they even had a pregame show highlight segment devoted to the two of them during that season. But for that one game, Dishman got hammered.

Re: Anyone been to a Redskins game at Dallas?

I went to the Monday night game that i refer to as "Santana's coming out party". The whole game sucked, because were were losing, but the last few minutes was awesome, all those Cowbastards around me were speechless and i was too cause i lost my voice from all the yelling and SH!t talking i was doing. The lady and her husband sitting next to me were not to friendly at first but she kind of warmed up, not much but a little. All in all the cowboy fans are not to bad, i wasnt sure what to expect when wearing my Skins gear but they were pretty civil. On the way out of the game they were really pissed about what had happened and of course i kept reminding them of what they were pissed about. There was almost a fight between Skins and Boys fans, but it didnt happen.
