I'm just glad the Pack decided to actually spend some of their salary cap.

Re: Packers sign Charles Woodson
No matter what you think of Charles Woodson, IF he can stay healthy, he's the best corner on that team. Easily better than Carroll and I would venture to say that at 90% of the old Chuck, he's better than Harris...lol.

Re: Packers sign Charles Woodson
the problem is his health has been an issue and he tends to whine as well... he'll be paid enough to hopefully stop that, but no way he plays out this contract.
details: Packers | More specifics on Woodson contract Wed, 26 Apr 2006 17:59:02 -0700 ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the seven-year contract agreed to with the Green Bay Packers by CB Charles Woodson is worth upwards of $52 million. ESPN.com's Michael Smith reports Woodson will make $10.5 million in the first year of the deal and $18 million over the first three years. Woodson will also receive a $3 million bonus if he is selected to the Pro Bowl in two of the first three years of the contract. |

Packers | Woodson to see action on offense
Wed, 26 Apr 2006 19:16:41 -0700 Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports according to agent Carl Poston, CB Charles Woodson picked the Green Bay Packers over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because head coach Mike McCarthy agreed to let him play on offense as well as play cornerback. "I think the fact that Brett committed to another year, that was one thing Charles was interested in," Poston said. "Another point is that they agreed to let Charles play offense as well as defense. That proved to be very beneficial to them. They wouldn't let him do that in Oakland." According to Poston, the Buccaneers, coached by Jon Gruden, weren't interested in allowing him to play on offense and wanted him to play safety. McCarthy said that when Woodson visited the Packers April 3, he told Woodson that he would be able to play some wide receiver if he signed in Green Bay. Woodson is expected to start at cornerback opposite CB Al Harris. Bet you he won't be very good at WR. champ and deion both wanted to play WR and when they got chances, they did nothing with them. If CBs had hands they'd already be WRs. |

Re: Packers sign Charles Woodson
Let's see how much he wants to play WR after Favre breaks one of his fingers with a bullet across the middle.

Second, 29 isn't ancient. Third, can we all say Mark Brunell, Deon Sanders, Bruce Smith, etc. ? Fourth, it was a joke.

Re: Packers sign Charles Woodson
the last few years woodson body has started to break down.he is far from the cover corner that he once was,but still will be the best corner on the packers roster.this is a sorry move by green bays front office to show favre they are trying to improve.they should sign walker, also.as quick as favre was to jump on walker last year,he should speak up now to the front office in walkers behalf
