Gregg Williams Says He Will Remain in DC Beyond 2006

Redskins.com has a video of Gregg Williams in which a reporter asks Williams whether he intends will leave D.C. after 2006. Williams emphatically stated that he is going to stay beyond 2006 and wondered when people would stop asking him that question. He said his departure should not be an issue and he has no reason to leave and will be here after this upcoming season ends.

Wasn't the extension he just signed a few months back for like 2 or 3 years??I thought it was going to end at the same time Gibbs' 5 year contract ended so hopefully he would take over the job.

yeah, there also was a clause that said if he wasn't offered to take over the job he would be awarded 1,000,000. I don't see why he would leave here. If he didn't leave this year with all the openings, he isn't going to leave next year.

That video is kick ass. I love hearing Williams lay it down. Plus, check out his comments about Taylor--says a lot of people will be apologizing to Sean soon, he's a joy to coach, not worried about him at all.

Sweet. Preach on, Coach!

I like it too, but he seems kind of arrogant (e.g. referring to himself in the 3rd person).

Yeah, that's true. No doubt he's a confident (ok--arrogant!) guy. But his defenses seem to get that chip on the shoulder thing he has, and it works. Wonder if he'll learn a bit from Gibbs about how to better handle the head coach's job when he gets his shot again?

He can as arrogant as he wants to be if you ask me. When it comes to defensive minds in this league, GW is right at the top.

That's what warriorzpath likes about him No, seriously though, it's what works for him.

And if it works for him, warriorzpath is fine with it. - and just so you know - I'm not talking about myself in the 3rd person, just a split personality issue
