Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
Sure thing, rookie.
Could you ask Tony if the players put any stock into the preseason rankings and odds that we fans are so passionate about? Do they care that Vegas has them at 8-1 to make the Super Bowl, or is it something they try not to be aware of.

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
I would like to get his ideas on how he thinks Gibbs will handle having Saunders run the offense on game day. I have met Gibbs and I think that, in spite of his humbleness, is a very confident man when it comes to football. How will he and Saunders handle situations where they don't see eye to eye.

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
what's the deal with saunders? he obviously wants to be a head coach, and it was a great hire, but what happens next year? does he bolt for the first available HC job? It wouldn't make sense to learn a new system for one year, and i believe gibbs et al would have talked to him about such things, but from saunders point of view, doesn't it make sense to jump as soon as an opportunity presents itself?
I'd ask the same about G Williams, except that he seems to have a promise of taking over at some point... I realize everyone is paid well and the team talent is good, but i'm curious as to what the long term plans are. |

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
1. I'd like an insider's opinion on the phasing out of the H. I personally believe that Cooley's role is merely expanding, and not changing entirely, but what the hell do I know? In addition to this, is the base package looking like 3 WR, or 2 TE?
2. Are there any possible FAs out there that the Skins are keeping a close eye on, or any positions that you know of that the team is still trying to upgrade prior to training camp? 3. Are there any guys on the roster who are likely to receive a contract extention sometime between now and Week 10? Thanks.

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
I'd like insider information on how Jason Campbell is progressing. We all hope Brunell can continue his renesance and stay healthy for 16 games plus the playoffs but what are the chances of that happening...will the kid be ready if we need him?
Also what does he think Andre Carter's presence will mean to our defense? |

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
hey tony,
thanks for taking the time, it is always great to get your insight. you love the skins but your not blind. last year it seemed that the staff choose to gamble with depth at cb and o line. the oline has gotten younger , i don't know about better and the cb is still thin. do you see the skins picking up another cb or rolling the dice, springs is great but his career is full of injury issues and if he or carlos goes down we could be in trouble. i know prealeau is a secret weapon that may not be a secret any longer and that with salary cap you have to pick your poison sometimes.but i have to admit to being uneasy about this as last year when randy went down our o line play went down hill. again thanks for your time c'mon superbowl. |

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
Tony, TheWarpath.net recently named Gmanc711 a moderator. Would you agree that's probably the biggest move of the offseason? And how do you think the other mods will adjust to the hotshot rookie taking mod time away from them?
On a lighter note, how important do you think it is for a player to be at the "voluntary" meetings/workouts. Such as the one Archuleta skipped earlier this spring.

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
Hey guys,
I talked very briefly to Tony today, he was fairly busy so I have to do the interview either tommarow or Friday during my lunch break (I was hoping to get it done today on my day off). Transcript should be up saturday at the absolute latest. I'll keep you updated if anything changes.

Re: Offseason Questions for Tony McGee
Tony,
Now that Sean Taylor is in the clear for the "Escapade in the Escalade", should we expect some stability from him? Was there a lesson to be learned, and did he learn it?
