Portis' big score - YAHOO Sports

Looks like we aren't the only ones who know that the saunders' offense will open up things for CP. Check out what Charles Robinson had to say. Let me know what you guys think too.

Re: Portis' big score - YAHOO Sports

As I started reading this article I immediately started wondering if he would take off any weight to play with more speed this year, I got my answer:

Quote:
Portis said he expects to arrive in training camp between 210 and 212 pounds, shedding the weight he gained to sustain last year's pounding. Now he's styling a more cut physique to suit the quickness Saunders' offense requires. And Portis points out that he's just now entering the four-year window that should be the peak of his career.

There are going to be a lot of new "Redskins experts" this year. Expectations are high, and every schmuck who has watched a few games has new and insightful commentary.

Just remember who the friggin' genius is around here.

How great would it be to have that "4 year window" start this season for Clinton and our Skins? If everyting falls into place like it seems it should, and injuries are few we have loads of P-O-T-E-N-T-I-A-L!!!!!!

Yeah, and the same guy who broke the Reggie Bush story way back when.

Re: Portis' big score - YAHOO Sports

Thanks for the love. Charles Robinson is the YAHOO sports NFL columnist. Whenever there is a dull moment in his field he essentially has to get a few leads a create a theory/story for readers. He is to YAHOO what Len "pasta-belly" is to ESPN, but more tolerable and with less credibility. People tend to discredit what he says because he is still unknown to many, but he is gaining momentum as a columnist. Its just that he is on YAHOO, and they dont focus on football, so people dont relate him to a Peter King, Dr. Z, or Dan Pompei.

He makes some good and far-feteched points, but once he gave the skins props, then he was good in my book.

Re: Portis' big score - YAHOO Sports

i think portis has a very good chance to improve his yard per carry this season. does anyone know what the nfl record is for the highest ypc? i think 5+ is reasonable. with all the weapons we have portis will be running wild against 6 and 7 man fronts this year and i cant wait

Yeah, I guess you get a welcome, even though you have been on the board for 2 years now, did the Feds finally give up? Yeah I was the one who made the Charles Robinson post before, and everyone was like "who the hell is this kid?". Yahoo! also has Chris Carter, but he isnt any better, he really doesnt know what he is talking about in regards to football, so I pretty much discount everything he says. Most people were pissed at Charles Robinson, because he had an article, in which he was confident that Patten would be cut. Its funny because alot of other sports writers had similar theorys. I do agree that is he kinda stupid; last year before the season started he promised the Bears wouldn't make the playoffs otherwise he would eat his laptop. He has this section, where he answers fan mail, and people got pissed off, and he eventually ate a laptop(kinda) and put a video of it on the air. Even though he ate a fake laptop(it was a cake), he still went back to his word and somewhat fulfilled the crazy promise he made. That is the only reason he has respect in my books, because Salisbury to this day hasn't said shit about his stupid promise, and now he is bending over to the Skins, which kinda pisses me off. If I ever see that dumbass on the streets, I am gonna put him in the hospital...
