Cooley needs to focus
I brought this up in another thread but I want to get some other peoples' opinions.
Was it just me or does it seem like Cooley's head hasn't been in the game over the past 2 weeks? I think he walked away fromt he Vikings game with 2 catches for -7 yards. Last night he ended up with 23 yards which mainly came in garbage time. There was at least one throw that went his way (I'm not talking about the INT on the 1) where he was covered by Williams but I thought Cooley really blew the play. Williams seemed to overrun the pass but when Cooley jumped up just just used one arm to bat the ball to the ground. My dad and I were completely stunned because we really thought he had a shot at getting it. Likewise, on that INT pass, I feel like he could have at least fought for the ball a little bit and maybe caused Williams to go out of bounds. Maybe I'm just looking for someone to blame, or maybe I'm just pissed about my crappy fantasy football team, but I feel like something is wrong with Cooley.

Maybe he should cut his hair.

Re: Cooley needs to focus
honestly, maybe it would help. He played better when he looked like a 10 year old Sunday school student.

Re: Cooley needs to focus
What does he need to focus on?
He's not getting many looks. Not sure what else he could be doing. The entire team needs some focus right now. |

Re: Cooley needs to focus
I think you should focus, AMD.
No, honestly I think Cooley is out of sorts right now. Last year the offense sorta came to him. If it wasn't Moss, then the ball went to Cooley. Well Moss aint get the ball either. So something's wrong! |

Re: Cooley needs to focus
I do believe that Cooleys success last year has gone to his head a little. He doesn't look like he stayed in shape during the offseason. He looks 20 or 25 pounds heavier. I think he has lost some quickness too. He doesn't seem to get that seperation in his routes. Cooley needs to lay off the McDonalds, and work a little harder on his conditioning. He has all the talent in the world, but he has to keep working he seems to be loafing around.
losing the hair might not be a bad idea either. Did you see that thing last night during the player intros? WOW |

Re: Cooley needs to focus
maybe trying to throw him the ball when he is not covered would get him more focused. im not sure what the hell brunell was looking at, but it seemed like the only time he threw it to cooley, he was covered

Re: Cooley needs to focus
Cooley hasn't gained 25 pounds. Not sure where you're seeing that #56fanatic.
The entire offense blows right now, it's not just one or two guys. |

Re: Cooley needs to focus
He looks chunkier this year than he did last year. I may have stretched it a bit with 25 lbs, I was just saying he looks heavier. Unless he is on the Bonds cream, I'd say he needs to get into better shape.

Re: Cooley needs to focus
I don't think shape has anything to do with it right now. The offense is so out of wack it wouldn't matter if he was 300 pounds or 250.

Re: Cooley needs to focus
who cares! This thread was about Cooley, not the whole offense. I said I feel Cooley is out of shape, or not in as good as shape as last year. Buddy, I know the offense as a whole sucks. Its pretty freaking obvious the offense sucks. This was about Cooley, so that was my comment on Cooley, not the offense.

And my comment was on Cooley as well. I simply said him being "in shape" or not doesn't really matter relative to our bigger problems. |
