What brought you here?

There are other redskins forums but this is the only one I am active in.

Reasons im here:
Someone at DSLreports.com sent me a personal message saying I should check out this site. My dslreports screen name is Skinsfanusa.

Edit: I just checked my message history and Cpayne5 sent me this on June 30th 2004.

"If you're username implies that you're a Redskins fan, check out www.thewarpath.net "

Thanks Cpayne!

Re: What brought you here?

It all started one faithful morning in 1998 while I was procrastinating through college, I think. The site used to be part of yahoo groups and there used to be quite a number of yahoo Skins communities back then. At the time, the warpath had the second biggest community but was the most active one, in meaningful discussion anyways. Then at some point yahoo bought some other company and stared messing yahoo groups. As time went by the crowd got smaller and smaller and for an off-season or so, the community was almost existent. Matty then started this site. Gradually the site increased in users but still had some issue...I remember having to register multiple times because there was an issue with the forum software. And here we are today, Matty is raking in millions thanks to TheWarpath users. BTW Matty, when are you going IPO with the site and where is Jimmy?

I'm active in this community and this community only because:
a) The site is clutter free and there are no nasty user signature banners.
b) The community isn't ridiculously big like ES and you pretty much know who you're responding to.
c) There are knowledgeable fans in here (for the most part :p)
d) Because Matty is the shiznit.

p.s. Matty, you should really write the history of the Warpath

Re: What brought you here?

I heard about this site during a very brief stint over at Extreme Skins. Someone posted something to the effect of: "THIS SITE SUXXORZ!!! I'M GOING OVR 2 THE WARPATH.NET BECAUSE THEY ROXXORZ!!!LOLLLZ!!!" I didn't understand the lingo but out of curiosity I typed in the URL and voila, here I am, imparting nonsensical verbage that sometimes (sometimes) has to do with the Washington Redskins.

Re: What brought you here?

I remember I was looking for the Warpath Insider Magazine and I came across this site. Someone said somthing that I thought was really stupid (I think it was Matty lol to be honest, I'd check if we didnt have that crash in 2004) but I was like man that dudes and idiot and registered to respond; pretty much been here 30 times a day ever since.

Re: What brought you here?

I think I've posted this before, but one day I was Googling for Redskins salary cap infomation. CrazyCanuck's cap sheets popped up and I was absolutely astounded at the accuracy, the detail, and the frequency of his updates. I then went out and got a tattoo on my buttocks that says I Heart CC.

That's what got me here. Then I realized what a great place it is to talk 'Skins with smrt 'Skins fans. That's what keeps me coming back everyday.

Re: What brought you here?

I joined the original Yahoo Group, and can't think for the life of me why...but I did. and here I am, several years later...and certainly none the wiser.

Re: What brought you here?

I think I was googling for pix of the Redskinettes when I came across a link to the Warpath, and ever since then its been a great joy to read and kill the endless hours I spend at work. Thank you Redskinettes for all you have done!

Re: What brought you here?

I was offered a ridiculous signing bonus.

Actually, I had been reading the site off and on for about a year then one day I just decided to register because I wanted new people with whom to talk about the Redskins.

Re: What brought you here?

This is actually the first forum I have ever joined. I always thought forums were boring and nerdy thing. But I think around early December last year(when the Skins were almost turning the corner), I had a lot of crap going on in my life, so I decided to bring life back to the basics, the Redskins. I had known about ES, but honestly I thought it was too complicated and cluttered for a first time user like me, so I searched Redskins forums, and I think this is one of the first links I went to. I remember being really wierded out about BSB's welcome thingy.

Edit: I just went and searched Redskins forums, and I remember I ran across a bunch of big general sports forums, that had a Skins subdivision within them, but isn't what I wanted. So basically the only reason I joined this site is because this was the first Skins forum that I found was not too complicated(first time user remember).

Really? Mine was rediculuous. That's right. So ridiculuous that correct spelling couldn't describe it.

Re: What brought you here?

I was kind of a passive on-looker for a week or so, and then made the mistake to start a Lavar thread. I was like... man ... these people really don't like talking about Lavar.... what the deal?

I was so naaive..... it got something like 14 pages of pictures of cats inside of a jar. Good times.

the sense of humor keeps me here every now and then.
