The Way I see it.
After watching the first two weeks of the regular season and the four terrible games in the preseason, I am convinced that the Houston game will propel this team into a winning streak. Houston is terrible in both "O" & "D" (23rd & 32nd) and hopefully this will give the Redskins a nice boost in confidence. The next 6 games after Houston could really put an end to the season or really show the league what the 'Skins' are all about. Clinton Portis be back and will have at least 130 yrds with a TD and Brunell (I hate the say this) will have a well managed game with no picks and 3 TD's. The Texans will score on us but hopefully GW has had time to shift and scheme to improve our "D" and cut out the Big Play. Springs will return for the Jacksonville game and the way their "O" has been playing I can't see taking an L at home. There you have it, two big wins to even our record and some confidence and motivation and we continue winning. Final Record 11-5
I hope I'm right because if not, I might need a new TV before the season comes to an end.

I hope your right,eh? J/J I don't see us winning against Jacksonville though. They are a very tough team.

Re: The Way I see it.
Hmm, I see us winning (barely) this weekend, losing against Jacksonville, losing at New York, beating Tennessee, then losing at Indy.
Record going into the bye week, 2-5. |

Unfortunately, I agree with your assessment. D.C. is going to get ugly, as is this website, by the time we are 1-4. The critics are going to be laughing about our lavish offseason spending spree. Hopefully Brunell and company can right the ship.

I do feel that we will barely beat houston, however, facing a poor team could jolt the team into "getting it", and then we will be harder to beat. Getting Portis and Springs back will be truly HUGE boosts.

Re: The Way I see it.
I see 3-4 heading into the bye week. the houston and tenn games are no brainers...i see them as victories. The Jax and NYG games are too close to call. We win one of those two...and goto Indy 3-3. And the chances of beating Indy are pretty slim but you never know....whats that catch phrase...Any given Sunday? But on a side note this is just my early morning first cup of coffee optimism. Catch me this afternoon I might be singing a different tune. LOL. Its too soon to write off this season. We go into the bye week anything less than 3-4 it will be time to see what Jason Campbell has.

Re: The Way I see it.
I think that this season we'll kick it into high gear towards the end, like last year. Maybe everyone needs a year under their belt to learn the Saunders offense. Final record this year will probably be 7-9.

Wow, what a difference 2 weeks can make. Before opening game we were all charged, ready to watch our Skins start the road to the Superbowl. Now, here we sit. I'm going to say a few prayers and trust that Gibbs is a mastermind and will fix this team and get them back on track.

Re: The Way I see it.
If the Skins -- especially #8 -- perform the way they have the first two games, they will enter the Jacksonville game 0-3. Those looking at the Houston game as a walk over are deluding themselves.
The Texans are a bad team (but they do have smoking hot cheerleaders ). Up to this point in the season, so are the Skins (but with even hotter cheerleaders). The Skins have the better D and the Texans have a much better O. I fear what this place will look like on Monday if the Texans win.

Re: The Way I see it.
Yeah, while we should be able to beat the Texans, they didn't play bad at all vs the Eagles. If they have many drives that looked like their first drive vs the Eagles, I question if we can put up the 14 points required to win.

Re: The Way I see it.
i for one am not ready to jump ship. but it almost seems like the redskins are waiting for someone to make something happen. i think one BIG play could turn the whole season around. i am still sticking to 11 wins. coach gibbs hasnt forgot how to coach

Re: The Way I see it.
We need a game like that 35-7 smackdown of the cowboys last year to give us some momentum. Bottom line is we need to win big to get back into the groove. If we only win 14-13 I don't think it will build confidence too much. But at this point I'd take any win we can get.

A win is a win at this point no matter what the score.
We just need a W. |

I see the one "big play" as a deep throw to Moss or ARE. At this point I blame Brunell for not opening the offense. He shows no confidence in the play book, or himself and is more afraid to make a mistake than take a chance. He doesn't step up in the pocket, he has had too many throws off his back foot or off balance. This ship will be righted when the QB gets confidence..and that just may be from a deep play.
