Blame the coaches!!!

Why is it that everyone that has anything to do with football can see that the Redskin D has a giant gaping hole where Sprinds used to be ... YET they have apparently done NOTHING about it????

I feel like I am watching a Norv Turner team!!! I am a life long fan, and I worship the ground that Joe Gibbs walks on, but I am just flat out ANGRY at the train wreck that was that game!

I blame the coaches all the way.

Re: Blame the coaches!!!

GW must think he is a super genius and his plug-and-play system works regardless of the group on the field. For once I'd like to see them play a little Tampa-2. In passing situations drop back the linebackers AND not blitz the safeties.

Eh, can only blame the coaches somewhat. I don't like all this conservative stuff. Conservative teams don't win football games.

But it's also the players fault too. They're supposed to execute regardless of the system. Getting beat downfield isnt GW's fault. Those 2 huge gains 40 yard by Toomer and Burress? That's just seriously lacking in fundamentals. And you can't teach that.

The problem with that is that our D-line almost never pressures the QB without a blitzing LB or DB. Carter has been a non-factor. I hope the salary cap hit isn't too great if we have to cut him loose. Our D-line was better last year with Daniels at right DE and Wynn at left DE. BTW, is Griffin hurting? He does not seem to be nearly as active as he was his first two seasons here.

Re: Blame the coaches!!!

Based on what I saw today from Williams and Saunders, I am beginning to dread what will happen when Gibbs leaves. I know I'm reaching, but I have been with this team 24+ years and it's the same old thing. Very little consistency and choking when it counts. I pray I am proven wrong. I've seen this team do some amazing things, but I've also witnessed a lot of heart breaking moments.

And is it just me or does it seem like so far, the team only gets fired up after we make a really big play. Where's the momentum? I feel like I'm starting to see a trend here.

Re: Blame the coaches!!!

Williams typically maximizes his resources. We should remember that not only is Springs out, but also Prioleau--who knew this defense inside/out, and Chris Clemons--who developed nicely under Blatche/Williams. Mike Rumph has at least become serviceable under this staff--but he's a dime corner playing nickel. So I think overall Williams shouldn't be judged too harshly.

It's still too early for Saunders in my opinion...

Last year Gibbs system couldn't win in the AFC. Now Saunders system can't win in the NFC.

I blame you, because you weren't here to watch the game. Just like the NFC Playoff game. Not to be superstitious, but you know the Skins record when you're part of the Jersey contigent.

The way I see it, our secondary can't cover anyone whether we play conservative or not so you might as well blitz.

Re: Blame the coaches!!!

i blame part on coaches, mostly on the defensive players though. they missed 100 tackles today and just didnt execute well. the missed tackles led to most of the giants success
