Gibbs vs. Parcells

Does Parcells have more guts by being willing to make the move to Romo than Gibbs is with Campbell? I think they Cowboys have more to lose at this point since they are still on the cusp of playoff contention. I think Gibbs loyalty is a strength but it's probably his biggest fault as well. He has a bit of a blind spot for Brunell and it can be a detriment for the team and Parcells seems to not have that kind of blind loyalty to any player.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I think it's WAY MORE political in Dallas than it is in Washington.

Re: Gibbs vs. Parcells

Gibbs and Parcells are different types of coaches. Each coach has their pros and cons. I often see Parcells as a bit too quick with decesions like that. Remember, many Dallas fans have been calling for Romo since before we were calling for Campbell, but Parcells has a bit of a soft spot for Bledsoe.

I think they're both great coaches. One's an intimidator, one's a friend.

Re: Gibbs vs. Parcells

Parcells hand was forced in that Bledsoe was throwing horrible INTs all year coupled with the fact he's a statue in the pocket. I think it was a move made out of desperation and I don't see Romo saving their season.

As Offensive Coordinator, I would have to think that Al Saunders factors into this decision as well. Has anyone heard what he's had to say about Brunell?

Re: Gibbs vs. Parcells

I think they are two different scenarios. Gibbs owns Washington for what he has done for the city. Parcells has done nothing for Dallas, his rep was built with a rival team.
Gibbs was right last year when he kept Brunell over Ramsey, then continued to keep Brunell for the rest of the season. Unfortunately for us, he will be incorrect about Brunell this season. That's the price we will have to pay this year for having Gibbs. Small price if you ask me.

I'd like to know this as well. Saunders seems to be remarkably silent with the ineffectiveness of the offense. But then again, I live far away from Washington.

Re: Gibbs vs. Parcells

It depends what your definition of guts is. Gibbs is conservative so he waits, and waits for the right time do anything. Parcells is impatient and will do whatever he wants whenever he wants.

If you read between the lines of the few comments he's made, Saunders doesn't seem like a Brunell fan. When he was asked about the ineffectiveness of the offense in the preseason, he made a comment about the fact that Kurt Warner won a Superbowl in his first year in his system. Last week, when he was asked about adding in some long passes to stretch the field, he said "Mark is good at quick drops and short passes" so they weren't planning on adding a lot of deep stuff.

I don't think Saunders has nearly the amount of confidence in Brunell as Gibbs does.

Re: Gibbs vs. Parcells

If you guys read the article Matty posted in the news wire you can see that Campbell is inching towards the start.

Re: Gibbs vs. Parcells

Both have had poor records in their last comeback to coaching. One playoff season apiece, inconsistent QBs, and good defenses which then deteriorated to bad ones.
