Espy activated
The Redskins have placed Fauria on IR and signed Mike Espy to the active roster as of Saturday. He could see significant time with Moss and Patten unlikely to play.

Re: Espy activated
Wow. I thought it was just a joke when someone had mentioned it to me. He was fun to watch in the preseason, doubt we'll see much of him on the field though

Re: Espy activated
Fauria might have been the worst blocking TE ever. Seriously guys, old does not equal good at blocking.
It's good to see Espy get his chance. I see no reason why he can't come in and play at a high level, and help out this offense.

Re: Espy activated
This was necessity, they are short as receiver with Moss out and Patten still hurting. I doubt we will see much of Espy in the game.

Re: Espy activated
It has just not been the Redskin's year. Even if they were 7-2, they would be in serious trouble with all of these injuries. Now, because they are out of the playoff hunt, these injuries don't bother me at all. It is just going to be a 3rd QTR Preseason game the rest of the way.

Re: Espy activated
Don't rule out minutes for Espy. In Week 12 of the 2000 season, a young firebrand named Jeff George was inserted after Johnson got injured. He benefited from another elevation to starter in gentle soul Albert Connell. They both played on the second unit in practice - they knew each other's (likely psychotic) tendencies. Five catches, 96 yards.
Campbell has been playing scout team with castoffs like... Mike Espy. He knows Espy better than anyone on the team. If he needs a security blanket, Espy is the guy.

Re: Espy activated
"Young firebrand"?? Wasn't George a 10-year vet by that point?
