C Rogers Give it up!
Great game. Most complete game I have ever seen from him. He looked really fast and more importantly confident. What gives?

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
Yeah. I thought he still played a little too far off in the first half, but he came up big in the second. The entire secondary played their best game of the year. Good pass rush without blitzing today as well.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
He looked like a different player. If he continues to look like that, he'll justify being taken 9th overall. I hope it's not a fluke.

Consistency is key over the last 5 games. We need Carlos to step up b/c Springs isn't gonna be here forever. Its Carlos's time. Just wanna see more Pics for him though.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
Vernon Fox had a heck of a game today too.
In the end, the secondary as a whole played their best game of the season. |

Yeah Shawn might be fully healed now. Great job on Steve Smith.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
The secondary had their best game of the season today. Hopefully this is the start of being a consistently good secondary.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
Now don't get me wrong Carlos played one his best games all season, but I don't understand why the coaches were lining him up sooo far off Keyshawn. I mean Keyshawn Johnson?!?! This guy is a posession receiver he doesnt have any speed anymore..I could prlly keep up with him. We were basically giving them that option, and a number of times Delhomme just turned and quickly slung it to Keyshawn for an easy 5-6 yards. This guy was lined up so far back that Sean wasn't even coming over the top, he was coming underneath, and if it weren't for him Johnson would've had a much better game. It seems to me that a physical corner like Rodgers should have been playing him tight, allowing Sean to roam a little more, but nevertheless a great game by the secondary...where was this all year?? And how bout that Vernon Fox?? We need more guys with an attitude like his. He's always playing like he has something to prove and is a team first kind of guy.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
I was surprised by the play of Fox. Even beyond that pick he played really sound. Agreed though, Carlos the Cushion only gave up one first down catch of around five yards that I thought he should have played up on the line. Definitely made a couple great swats.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
Gee, Imagine that. A great prospect but a 2nd year player showing signs of being great. No wonder we don't have any home grown talent, people won't allow it to grow.

Re: C Rogers Give it up!
Maybe 1 reason was the pass rush. Best rush game by the front 4. Even if AC didn't get a sack, he got a few hurries & basically beat his man consistently enough that delhomme got rid of the ball early.
Other than that, I don't know what got into Rogers, other than sheer embarassment from watching film of all the soft plays he's had this year. I'll just chalk it up to growth, as Daseal mentions. |
