My 360 bit the dust ALREADY
Anybody else have this problem? I called Microsoft about it and they told me that the warranty was only 90 days and that it was something like $150 for them to fix it, paid up front. I can get a brand new one for only $300??? When I talked to the CSR she told me that my console was made just before then end of the year and she new that some defective units were sent out around that time...but they still weren't going to fix it for free... If anyone is going to buy one of these, buy the protection plan where you buy it. I'd go buy a PS3 but I've already invested alot in equip and games for the 360...

Re: My 360 bit the dust ALREADY
that's why I get a warranty on every system I've bought since my first PS2 (one of the fatty one's) starting scratching all my games and eventually kicked the bucket. it took me that one system w/o a warranty to be like that though cuz before that I thought they were just trying to get more money outta me.

Another reason to wait a while to buy a new system, they're always buggy at first.
Sorry to hear yours has kicked it already. You would think MS would man up and fix them. |

That's why i don't buy consoles when they first come out. I'm gonna save up some money for a while then buy one with the protection plan. If i don't do that i might just wait a few years, i'm content with my ps2 right now.

Re: My 360 bit the dust ALREADY
Yep, my cousin's 360 broke also. It was a couple things, however. First the little door over the controller port (or memory port -- can't remember) broke, and was stuck inside. Then, the whole thing stopped working, and he couldn't get his disc out. Yeah, he had to pay to send it back to M$ and get it fixed. Works fine after that ... for now, at least.

Re: My 360 bit the dust ALREADY
My 360 died after three weeks....but they replaced immediately and I haven't had a problem since. My friend has a PS3 and it died on him two days ago. I think Matty has the best solution to wait it out.

Yeah, should've waited, but when i heard what the price of the PS3 was gonna be I figured I already knew which way I was going to go... I always turn down the protection plan, but not anymore.

Re: My 360 bit the dust ALREADY
The 360 is an excellent machine once you get one that is stable. Hell, the PS3 online isn't even working half the time from what I understand? Maybe we should all just go back to PONG!

Re: My 360 bit the dust ALREADY
What I don't get is they spend a good number of years developing these machines but when they hit the market it still seems like the end product was rushed. They don't have enough units to meet demand, they always have bugs initially, etc.

I still play my 16 year old Nintendo from time to time when I visit my mom. Seriously.
