Danny Smith
Has anyone noticed how good every single one of our special teams units has been this year, I mean, no TD's on any returns, no blocked kicks on our punts or field goals, We have 2 return TD's for us to go along with 4 blocked kicks that I remember. Also, we are very good at downing punts within the 5 yardline. The only problem is the kicker, but that's not Danny's fault, he cant control whether a kicker makes it or not. Danny Smith has gotten no recognition all year an I think its about time. BTW, I'm just pretty sure his name is danny smith, if not I'm talking bout the special teams coach, sry, I'm just too lazy to look it up.

Re: Danny Smith
we have had our punt blocked at least once, maybe 2 times. once against the titans i think that lost us the game. panthers also blocked one i think, cuz i remember macintosh blocked a punt the same game that the other team did...really think it was panthers

Re: Danny Smith
Overall though our special teams have been good.....with the exception of our feild goal kicking, which once again has bit us in the ass on a number of occasions. Special teams have been a bright spot overall though.

Re: Danny Smith
i think the special teams have been pretty good this season. both our return guys have a chance to score every time they touch the ball. frost actually has had a pretty good season. and our sucky field goal kickers have nothing to do with coaching

Re: Danny Smith
Teams have been one of the (few) relatively bright spots

Re: Danny Smith
I think the special teams have been great this year. The most consistent I've seen in a long time. The one exception is our kicking game which is officially a joke.

Re: Danny Smith
I know this sonds crazy, but I would like to see Shuisham get alot of feild goal opprotunities from all over the feild these last few weeks to see what we got there. If he isnt anyone who can consistantly workout for us, we need to address that position in a seroius way.

Re: Danny Smith
Definitely have to give props to the guys on teams that don't get the ball-Jimoh, Thrash, K. Campbell, even Rocky

Re: Danny Smith
Of the three areas, I would agree that teams have been the best on a consistent basis. They have, however, been far from spectacular (two blocks, several missed fg's that, eventually, cost the game, more than one or two long kick-off returns). Don't get me wrong, I think that they have been generally good. It's just that, compared to a defense that can't stop the big-play and an offense that doesn't have an identity, teams has looked solid.
If the other two parts of the teams were performing up to snuff, perhaps we would be complaining about the blocks and misses and wondering why the can't perform these basic tasks. As it is, I think teams have been pretty solid and certainly seem (from a personal impression, purely opinion stand point) to be doing better than last year.
