Bill Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum?
Jim Rome was talking about this today, he said there are sources saying that Parcells has told Jones that he won't return next year if Terrell Owens is on the team. It's the good old him or me scenario.

Re: Bill Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum?
I'm biting my tongue to keep from turning this into a Jim Rome-bashing thread (which it will eventually become anyway), but I'd like to get a second source on that before putting any stock in it.

Re: Bill Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum?
Source: Mike Florio, ProFootballTalk.com [ Full Article ]
We've been saying it for weeks. In our view, a day will arrive in which Cowboys coach Bill Parcells tells owner Jerry Jones that Jones has a choice to make -- player or coach; T.O. or Tuna. ESPN's Ed Werder reports that they day could be coming. Citing a source close to Parcells and familiar with the Tuna's thinking, Werder says that an ultimatum could arise if the problems with Owens continue. And the players, as we've reported, are getting fed up. One player told Werder that Owens is like a "bucket with a hole in it," and that "no matter how much you put in, you can never fill it up." The key to the situation continues to be Jones, who has been T.O.'s chief enabler. Werder says that, when Jones was asked about whether there would be any discipline arising from Owens' recent dust-up with receivers coach Todd Haley, Jones angrily said, "Yeah, against Haley. This is not a reflection on T.O." |

I thought this was Parcells' last year anyway.

I can totally see Parcells doing that! Love him, hate him, the Tuna cuts a wide path and doesn't mind puttin' it on the line!

Re: Bill Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum?
I fully believe that things are coming to a head with TO. That was just a matter of time. I doubt an ultimatum has been issued yet.
However, when one does get issued, I'd dump them both. TO is a cancer - cut him out. Parcells was a mopey SOB till Homo came and turned the team around. If Jones has any coaching options, I'd look into that and dump the Tuna. |

Re: Bill Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum?
To be honest, I can't imagine any coach in his right mind wanting to coach a team of which TO is a part of. He's such a distraction, a coach has to spends more time answering questions about him, than he does coaching his team.

I thought he was going to demand breast reduction surgery (which should be outlawed on females).

Same reporters have been dogging him with the will he / won't he retire question for the past two seasons. Who knows? I think all the retirement talk just gets him a better payday from Jerry.

Re: Bill Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum?
didn't he re-up for another year? He will have all the bargaining tools next year either way, cause this Dallas team isn't gonna win it all, but they'll get close enough that JJ will do anything to keep BP for another shot. Let's hope they go out & sign a safey w/$10 mil bonus that can't cover!

So long Parcells...Jerry Jones seems to be drinking TO's kool-aid, so it's not likely he's going to get rid of him. Wonder if Parcells is completely done, or will take a job elsewhere.
