14-0 Regular Season = first round loss!
I knew it. I went 14-0 in the regular season in a local league (having LT helped a little) and lost in the first round. Thanks to McNair getting injured and Manning abusing Cincinnatti's defense. The only thing that I can get upset about is the scoring rules. Our league commish decided at the last minute to count pass completions as a point each, as well as carries by a running back. Receivers get hosed. 10 points is considered a good game for them whereas 50 points is good for QB's and RB's.
C'est la vie. I'm still going strong in my money league. Week 16 is our championship week and I'm in it. Also, in the Warpath Free League I'm playing Rock Wit It for the championship this week. That one will be a hollow victory though mainly because I didn't draft my team because I missed the draft time. How did you guys do in your leagues?

Re: 14-0 Regular Season = first round loss!
I'm in the championship game of one of the WP leagues. I think it's called WFL, but I'm not positive.
I'm going to need another insane game from LT for The Wiener Kids to prevail. Other than that, I pretty much sucked in all my other leagues, including the only one that I was in for money.

That's a messed up scoring system, no points for receptions when the QBs and RBs are getting points for completions and carries??
Hog Squad is representing in the Warpath $$ League in the Championship game thanks to Peyton Manning going absolutely crazy last night! |

Re: 14-0 Regular Season = first round loss!
I went into the playoffs as #1 (10-2-1, free), #1 (11-3, free), #3 (9-5, money), and #4 (8-6, free). I promptly lost 3 of 4 this weekend...
First league, I'm in the finals against a guy I beat twice this year (#6 seed in the playoffs). Barely got through winning by 2 points. LT wasn't enough for the other guy. To counter the scoring of the QBs and RBs, each reception was worth 1 point. Stephen Jackson carried my squad this year. Also helped that when McNabb and Hasselbeck went down, I was able to pick up Drew Brees. 2nd league, where I had most points by 166, I lost to a guy who had Michael Vick, TO, and Gore. Also didn't help that both Brees and Booker threw goose eggs. Naturally, if I leave Peyton Manning in, I win. Money league, I lost by 5 points. Again, didn't help that Booker threw up a goose egg and that the Bengals settled for FGs. Win this game, and I was guaranteed at least $150. And the last league, I was in first place until Week 9, when I proceeded to lose 4 of my next 6 and settle as the 4th seed and lost to the #1 seed. Still #2 in points though. Not a bad year...

Actually, I think you have the better overall team. I need a Westbrook to have another monster game and Rudi J as well. Otherwise I think I'm screwed.

Yeah seriously. I'd be steaming mad. First off it's the most idiotic scoring system I've ever heard of. Secondly, changing something anytime close to, or especially after, the draft is total bull.

As for my success: I totally suck. I drafted Alexander with my first pick, and for a while the worst team had only a single win -- and it was against me. As it turns out, the week after I was eliminated from playoff contention I had a monster week. That pretty much sums up my season: the only production I got all year was meaningless.

Re: 14-0 Regular Season = first round loss!
I didn't complain too much because I got LT and Stephen Jackson. I probably benefitted the most so I wasn't upset. The guy who got really steamed was the one that grabbed Holt and Harrison with his first two picks.
The other crappy thing is that he has the championship game for Week 17. So if your stud players sit for a half because their team is locked in for the playoffs you'll probably lose in fantasy.

I honestly wouldn't bother participating if a commish made scoring rule changes after a draft. That's just crap.

Re: 14-0 Regular Season = first round loss!
Exactly! It's an office league and most of us do it just to have some water cooler conversation material. No money, so it's fun to bitch about the rules.

Early in the season I had TJ wHosyourmomma and the guy I was playing had someone like Reggie Wayne (I think). TJ had 95 yards and 2 TD and Wayne had 106 yards and no TDs, but because of the stupid bonus points Wayne outscored my guy. Like 724 said, the league is basically only good for all the BSing it creates around the office.
