Tony Gonzalez signs 5-year extension with Chiefs

ESPN.com - NFL - Hail to the Chief: Gonzalez agrees on five-year deal

I think this is a prime example of how the FA market is going to be slim pickins this year with a lot of vets choosing to resign with their own teams.

Wow that’s a long time for someone his age. I bet he only plays in KC for 3 of the 5 years he signed for.

Cooley is not Tony Gonzalez nor does he deserve the same type of money.
Cooley is a good TE, not yet great.

Thank you. Yet another fan favorite - due mostly to the fact that he has a 'cool' name that the crowd can recite after every catch.

He's got much more to prove before he gets anywhere near that kind of money.

Premier TE in the league and deserves what he is getting. Congrats to Mr. Gonzalez who is often at the top of the league in his position and is a pretty good team guy as well.

K.C. did the right thing. Let the best tight end ever to play finish his career with the team he started it all with. I wish more teams did this.
