Re: springs restructure

I haven't seen anything on this. The only thing I saw was that his name was listed amongst several others in a LaConforia article that are possible restructers of their respective contracts.

Re: springs restructure

That's awesome if he's restructured!
Sure that comcast reported that he has restructured or is negotiating?

Re: springs restructure

That would be truely outstanding, but I googled several things with his name in it and nothing came up about him restructuring this year. I would imagine if it was on that ticker, it would be somewhere on the internet.
So while it is wishful thinking and hopeful thinking, at this point, I don't think it's accurate.

Re: springs restructure

That's what makes me love Wayne Brady even if he IS injury prone.

Until we can verify this I'm changing the title of the thread to say rumor.

Re: Springs has restructured his deal (rumor)

I think it's likely the truth. Springs has no reason to resist a basic restructure. He gets a lumpsum payment in the form of signing bonus now, rather than waiting until the season to collect game checks.

The team has repeatedly hinted that he could have a role on the team as a safety. So that makes me believe he is certainly in Gibbs' and Williams' plans for next season.

I see no reason why this wouldn't be true, just like I see no reason to put any stock in that stupid little blurb that Jason LaCanfora put on his blog saying Springs' situation could get sticky.

More writers should be required to understand the salary cap. All you have to do is look at the cap situation, and you can EASILY figure out what a team will do with most players. With Springs, it's a no brainer. Simple restructure, and keep him in the fold.
