Patrick Kerney?
Patrick Kerney has decided to opt out of his contract making him an unresticted free agent would he fit in the redskins system he would be one of those non-high profile players that make a defense better and he wouldn't be really expensive and he could make the redskins trading their number 6 overall pick that much easier

Re: Patrick Kerney?
I'm not sure that he would come that cheap and he said on Sirius that in spite of the fact that he intended to opt out, he has no intention of leaving Atlanta.

Holy Christ Earthquake, you're on pace to set the record for starting more threads in one week than anyone in the history of thewarpath. I'm not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, but you might want to think if a topic deserves its own thread.

Re: Patrick Kerney?
I'd love to see the 'Skins pick him up. I remember him going all the way back to his days with Virginia, he's a high class dude with an awesome Jon Jansen type work ethic (started 150+/- straight games) and the injury he suffered this past year (torn pectorial muscle) is one that should be recoverable and should not nag at him like a knee or ankle would.
Signing him IMO would be ideal because I don't think he would ask for as much money as Fletcher-Baker or Clemons so we could sign him and draft an LB or CB to fill one of those positions instead of a D Lineman. Like everyone seems to think we would go after now.

Re: Patrick Kerney?
Someone should post a Ballad of Kidwell to serve as a constant reminder of the dangers of MultiPost Syndrome. I'll give it a whirl...
Come and listen to my story of a sad, sad tale About a overzealous poster who's name was Kidwell, Then one day he was postin' too many threads And so he was banned by the mighty Warpath Heads TAFKAS, that is, SmootSmack, Search Guru THE WARPATH MODERATORS!

You're going to be like the boy who cried wolf, Quake [NSFW] (is this you?). At some point, no matter how good the thread people are going to stop caring really. Just need to slow things down a bit.
That said, Kerney is someone I have wondered about since my dream of Justin Smith is firmly entrenched in the rearview mirror

Re: Patrick Kerney?
There's another thread out there asking if the Skins should keep Wynn and Daniels next year. Here's an economic proposition:
Take the money that it will cost to keep Wynn and Daniels. Subtract from that what it will cost to keep a rookie DL who is on the squad only to learn how to play the position. Take the difference and see if that is enough to sign Patrick Kerney. If it is, do that in a heartbeat. Kerney is better than either Daniels or Wynn at this point in their careers. My suspicion is it will take more than that to acquire his services...

As far as Kerney, I find him interesting. I am guessing that he wants some serious cash. I wonder how much Simeon Rice wants? He might be worth a short term (1-2 year) incentive laden contract. |
