Are the 49ers the new Redskins!

The 49ers just sign WR Ashley Lelie to a two-year deal and now targeting Stallworth. Is it me or the 49ers looking pretty good this offseason. I believe they will be very good in 2007 with the acquisitons that they making in free agency especially if they sign Stallworth. They still have the draft to improve.

I'll admit that them signing Clements will help them. And if they land Stallworth that is all the better for Alex Smith, but don't fool yourself with Lelie...

They are not the Redskins they are happy with 5-11 seasons.

Since you like to rain on the parade, what do you have to say about Smoot taking less money to come back?

I guess you have to like it since you criticized the front office for letting him go in the first place.

it you paid attention i said i was very happy that we sign smoot. its a damn shame that we let him go in the first place. Should have kept him and drafted merriaman damn we would be so much better if we did that. Well last i saw they have won 5 superbowls and we have won three. So i guess we should be happy at 5-11. Seems like you are. Im tired of losing, and only having two playoff wins since 92 not enough for me maybe it is for you.

Sorry you thinks its raining on the parade when you tell the truth about how sorry we are as of today. I guess i hate seeing my team in last place again and only winning one division game again. Its kinda sucks, guess it doesnt for you.

Merriman would suck in our system. He's an OLB for a 3-4 defense.

or we could have signed andre dyson for the same price as carlos rogers and saved 20+mill over signing smoot and still had that pick. It's great that your hindsight is sooo perfect, but it's not going to fix things.

i would have rather kept smoot in the first place. Just like i would have rather sign peirce now we have to pay more for a 32 lb instead of a guy who in his prime. london good but should have kept our own

Re: Are the 49ers the new Redskins!

My dad is a huge Niners fan, and I have seen a lot of the the past few years, and I really don't think these FA are going to help them with the exception of Clements. I think the Niners will be a 8-8 team next year. They still have a lot of work to do at WR, OL, LB, DL, and IMO Lelie, and Lewis were horrible FA signings for them.

i don't doubt the 49ers record will improve, but after clements, some of the moves aren't really looking like slam dunks.
