Redskins Re-sign Omar Stoutmire!? (Rumor)

I'll mark this as a rumor for right now, but I saw this on Extremeskins (via ESPN2) so I'm awaiting the confirmation......

What is this a reunion!?!?!

Welcome Back !

it'd be a good re-signing. good depth and a good special teamer.

Didn't he start for the Saints for the first half of the season? Either way, I think this is a pretty good move, depth-wise.

I didn't know he was on the market or did the Saints cut him? He played pretty well for us in 05, 10/11? games.

Good move, I'm sure bargain priced. Alot of action in one day if true.
Welcome back. WHAT'S NEXT?

It's true. I like him but more than anything it seems to tell me that they're not comfortable with Prieoleau's health right now.

Unless, and I hope this isn't true, they're thinking they can let Springs go without replacing him. And someone like Pierson or Omar takes the nickel spot behind Smoot and Rogers, or Jimoh gets it, or John Eubanks finally gets his chance to shine

washingtonpostlive on comcast was just talking about bringing the stadium back to DC - that would be a pretty big off season move

I would think that if we were concerned about Prioleau's availability for this season, we would have held on to Archuleta considering the giant cap hit. Stoutmire makes for good depth, but we really don't have another candidate at the second safety besides Prioleau. We're counting on him.

I agree. DB is such a speed position, and with an ACL tear you just don't know how PP will bounce back. Fortunately the injury occured on literally the 1st play of the season, so his recovery time frame should be enough. I hope. Either way Soutmire knows the D and is another able body. He can't be any worse than AA and will cost a hell of a lot less. Although he will be 33 when the season starts. I am holding out hope that Springs will move to safety.

washingtonpostlive on Comcast Sports Net was talking about since RFK isnt gona be around that much longer and Snyder has lots of money and that Redskins games are still pretty much sold out even with out winning seasons that theres a chance RFK 2 might happen. I think this was talked about in a old post.
They were talking about superbolw and even final 4 possibilites with the stadium (said there would be a retractable roof)

Here's a link to a story about it

And if anyone wants to do a search they can find previous threads about this. But let's keep this thread on topic and about Omar

fenty is meeting with synder, they already said its a long shot, and synder's camp already said they're going to honor their 30 year lease with PG (20years to go). there's still about 200$mill in debt on the current stadium too. it's not happening, it's just a pipe dream, and will continue to be, for at least 10 more years.

would be nice to have him back and add some safety depth, he knows the system and can play teams
