Kris Jenkins?

It looks as if the Panthers are shopping Kris Jenkins. I say the Redskins should look into this.

What about a swap of first rounders, (Carolina really wants Landry), and a 5th rounder?

The Skins get Jenkins, the 14th pick, and a 5th rounder.

Carolina gets the 6th pick.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

Since it involves the D-line, I'm sure the front office has no interest.

They'd rather pick up more linebackers and defensive backs.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

When healthy Jenkins is a top DT. If his injury issues are behind him he's definitely worth a look.

Are you linking us to a post in a discussion thread, or is this coming from a credible source that the Panthers are looking to move up? Seems like just a discussion thread, which is exactly how bad rumors get started. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Isn't Jenkins, the 14th, and a 5th rounder way too much for the 6th pick? I'm not an expert on that draft value chart, but that seems like an awful lot.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

This is probably the article this thread was referring to:
Charlotte Observer | 04/07/2007 | Panthers willing to trade Jenkins

I agree Schneed, I doubt CAR would go for that trade.

That is the article. I'm not sure they would throw in a fifth, but if they don't we are giving a second round eqivalent in the trade. 6 spot is 1600, 14 spot is 1100, the 40th pick is 500, that seems like an awful lot to give up, we definitly need another pick thrown in.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

Unfortunately, Jenkins has hated the skins ever since he played for the terps. He's also has had weight, depression and drinking issues over his 2 injury plagued seasons in '04 and '05.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

I know what u are referring to when he said he didn't want to play for the skins coming out of college, but seriously things change. Players mature up a lot and if the price is right, i don't think he or the panthers would pass up on a trade just b/c he doesn't like the skins.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

if they are willing to make that trade we should go for it. Jenkins is a monster when healthy. So we can fix that d-line issue we have and address another hole with the draft picks.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

I think if we are going to trade for this guy we should give them a 5th rounder or next years 3rd.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

Jenkins was a beast & might be again for a couple years, but something about him playing here doesn't gell. I would rather not see any free agents unless they're 2nd stringers at this point. We've addressed the secondary & LB corps in free agency, let's stick to the existing roster & the draft to work on the d line.

Re: Kris Jenkins?

Jenkins will play will the money is the greenest. we don't need his attitude on the skins. he is in decline, anyway

I agree.

We can get Okoye cheaper.
