R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut
Novelist Kurt Vonnegut dies at 84 - CNN.com
Kurt Vonnegut passed away after a long and interesting life yesterday after a bad fall at his home. I've only read one of his books, "Slaughterhouse Five," but I could tell how influential his writing was on many other authors that I enjoy. I have a copy of "Cat's Cradle," which I never got around to reading after I bought it, and I think it might be a good time to pick it up. If you've never read any of his work before, just be warned that you have to give it some time to get going because Vonnegut's writing seemed like it was the jumbled thoughts of a kid with ADHD. But once he gets going he is a master at using out of this world concepts to explain the human experience (at least that's what he did in SH5). He will be missed.

Re: R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut
I had to read 'Slaughterhouse Five' in college for Modern American Lit, can't say that I enjoyed it much back then but he will certainly be missed.

Re: R.I.P. Kurt Vonnegut
OMG, this sucks. He was in a league of his own when it came to making people laugh. Cat's Cradle was the first Vonnegut book I read but was certainly not the last (Mother Night, Slaughterhouse-Five, The Sirens of Titan, Breakfast of Champions, Jailbird, Welcome to the Monkey House).
RIP Kurt Vonnegut.

Matty, did you ever imagine that when you wrote your 20,000th post on TheWarpath.net (well, at least this version of it) it would be in a thread honoring the life of Kurt Vonnegut?
Congrats on 20 grand Matty20k72

Holy Christ Matty, 20,000 posts! Congrats! I remember the days at my old job when we posted about the same number of posts per day. Now you've quadrupled my rate.
