Re: Earnhardt to Gibbs Racing?

I was talking to some Joe Gibbs Racing people today ('cause that's how I roll) and it's possible but the Budweiser sponsorship could be a sticking point

Chances are he's either starting his own or more likely joining Richard Childress Racing

Yeah, the news pointed that out as well, but at least the possibility is there.

Doesn't Bud have the option to go with Jr.? Why couldn't/wouldn't they go to Gibbs?

Re: Earnhardt to Gibbs Racing?

I made this prediction 6 months ago that if DEI and Jr. could not work a deal Big Joe would have him on a plane heading to JGR.

This deal is VERY possible. I'm a Denny Hamlin fan and a team of Denny Hamlin, Dale Jr. and Tony Stewrat would be an awesome team.

So predict he will go with his father old team Richard Childers Ent who owns the #3 car. Will we see Jr. in a black #3 car? I don't think just yet. He wants to make more of a name for himself.

Goor thread!
peace

I said the same thing until last year when I decided to watch. You can't watch it until you pick a driver. It would be like watch NFL without picking the Redskins to follow.

So in doing my homework I saw Coach Joe Gibbs had a team so I started there. He had 2 rookies and one had FedEx as his sponsor and that's my Redskin's stadium, he was also a Virginia boy abd a Redskins fan. Bingo bango boingo that was my driver

Denny Hamlin #11
Came in 3rd overall last year his rookie season and was named Rookie of the Year.

He's currently in 4th and is racing great!
Check him out.

Re: Earnhardt to Gibbs Racing?

Well I think Bud wants to stick with Jr. and Jr. probably has the jones for Bud sticking with him and I doubt very seriously that JGR is gonna simply abandon their rule that they don't want alcohol sponsors so JGR is out almost assuredly. Given that Hendrick is full and RCR is like a home away from home I would be surprised if he didn't go there. Of course this is what everyone thinks. But everyone also thought DEI wouldn't be dumb enough to let him go and we see how that played out. Maybe he ends up back at DEI after they realize he means busniess about leaving. They are fooling themselves if they think that letting Jr. go won't put this team away. She hasn't run the team to win and the only thing that keeps it afloat is Jr. and his popularity. When that's gone they better start winning or they'll be out of business in 5 years. Sr. has got to be rolling in his grave.

Re: Earnhardt to Gibbs Racing?

Junior will either race the #8 on his own team (JR Motorsports) or will race the #3 for RCR. It's a longshot for Junior to race for JGR, but nothing's impossible. And as FRPLG said, there is always the slight chance of DEI seeing the light, and giving Junior what he wants...considering that it'll be hard to recruit drivers when the company couldn't even keep their own kin.

If not for "NECKCAR" I wouldn't have the job I have with ESPN...and then I wouldn't be able to share those inside rumors about the NFL with you. Now would I?
