NOT BAD. EA was pretty kind to us. even Rock gets a nice rating.
they have Ramsey right beneath Brunell, just waiting to be subbed in. Clinton Portis seems maybe a little underrated, but thats ok because they gave our defense some higher ratings than they probably deserve, especially along the defensive line. ST: 85 in both Madden and ESPN our TEs get absolutely no love. (they drop any pass). hopefully a star emerges from the TE pack this year. maybe Cooley? (69) |

damn, Rock's got an 86 rating! definitely didn't see that coming but then again last year he carried the load quite a bit in the last half of the season.
Cooley got a pretty good rating for a 3rd round pick at 69. I think Friedman should be atleast in the mid 70s but they got him at a 65? Hasselback made a big ass jump up from last year's ratings, lol. overall they seemed to have gotten them pretty spot on. |

Here is the link to the main page... http://sports.ign.com/articles/534/5...html?fromint=1 And here's the link to the Redskins Ratings! http://sports.ign.com/madden05/redskins.html Some big ones off the bat... Sean Taylor - 85 OVR (90 spd, 76 catching - which is REALLY high for a safety, 81 tackle) Mark Brunell - 86 Patrick Ramsey - 83 Chris Cooley - 69 Sean Springs - 89 Fred Smoot - 87 Others... Arrington - 98 Portis - 95 Barrow - 90 M. Washington - 88 T. Jacobs - 74 (only) W. Harris - 78 (not bad) Coles - 91 Gardner - 85 Let's Discuss!!

I was hoping Cartwright was rated as high or higher than Betts. Let's face it guys. Betts was drafted in the early rounds, but he hasn't been able to live up to his potential. I'll be using the jumbo package at will!

yeah, last year hasslebeck was the absolute lowest rated player in the entire game at 37... he's jumped up 32 points... not too bad i'd say, especially for a 3rd QB
lavar is a 98? wow, and barrow is a respectable 90... rock at 86 though??? wow.. seems a bit high, but i'll take it. lots of 90s... our OL and LBs look the best, we got 2 good RBs (portis and rock), 87 and 89 at starting corners... this lineup is 20x better than last year. |

oh yeah, coles has a 99 in speed and 98 in acceleration, 95 agility... better than TO!
i can't pass up madden this year, this is about as good as i've seen the skins. portis is a 97/99/96 and he can catch well too, so even on 2 WR sets you still have 3 good WRs. gardner has decent (for a WR) run blocking too. |

these ratings are pretty generous, did you see the Oline? Samules Jansen and Thomas were all 91+ and a 86 for rock cartwright? that seemes excessive

OL has decent ratings too (despite a horrible horrible year under the steve), jacobs low, coles has a 99 in speed... rock is an 86 (too high, but no complaints), betts is 76.
tim goes from a 37 last year to a 69, great for a 3rd QB. |

Reserve OT Kenyatta Jones is a 76! Wow, I'll have to take a good, hard look at this guy during camp. He seemed to move pretty good in the minicamps, but I want to see how he does with live hitting.
I agree that Friedman should definitely be higher than a 65. He's undersized and not terribly strong, but the guy is smart, uses very sound technique, and plays with a lot of heart and fire. He should only be a few points below Raymer in my opinion, maybe a 75-76. Otherwise, most of the ratings look about right. I was disappointed that ESPN failed to recognize the absence of the true FB position on Gibbs' depth chart. They have Rock at fullback, and you can't change him to a RB. Nor can you change a TE to a fullback, which is what I did in Madden '04 with Cooley (whom I created in last year's version) and the other guys who will play H-back. They really need to provide modifiable depth chart structures to accomodate special, unique positions like H-back. |
