Need Info On Buying Ipod
My wife wants an Ipod for her birthday which is today and I have no clue about them. If anyone could suggest which one to buy or what to look for would be of great help. I'm looking to spend around $125 to 150 and don't even know if that enough $ to buy one. I do have a Radio Shake down the street from my office but are their prices much higher than the bigger stores? Thanks for any help!

Re: Need Info On Buying Ipod
Prices for ipods are the same everywhere since Apple controls what price they sell for. For your price range I would suggest the nano

Does your wife run at all? The Nike addon to the iPod is really neat for runners. It keeps track of your time, speed, you can challenge other people, etc. There are lots of way to be able to put the sensor on a pair of running shoes without having to buy the crappy Nike ones designed for it. This system is an extra 10 or so dollars, but requires a special case and they say shoes to have it work. Neat system though.
BTW, if you know any students you can have them use their educational discount on em!

The Nano is about your best option, but the headphones for all ipods are awful. When possible, upgrade the headphones asap. There will be plenty of options at stores like Best Buy, Circuit City etc..
Radio Shack is not a good store to buy anything. |

newegg.com or costco can save you a couple bucks, but not enough to really go out of your way.
nano's pretty good for most people. |

I would suggest getting a warranty because the last two Ipods I got messed up on me, but I guess I might have just had bad luck.

Re: Need Info On Buying Ipod
Sorry, for starting a thread and not replying. When I started the thread it did not show up so I said screw it as I was in a rush and today I see the thread. Not sure what that is all about. I went with the Nano as several of you suggested.
DB66 I know Best Buy is a bigger store but their customer service if you have a problem really sucks. I purchased a cheap $50.00 DVD player for my daughter to take to college and when she hooked it up at school it broke half way into its 1st DVD. She did not come home for a couple of months but I had the box and my receipt and tried to take it back. I'm not sure if their return policy was 60 or 90 days but it was like three days over their return policy. I tried to explain the situation to the return person and then the store mgr and they both pretty much said to bad. I explained that they would loose my business and others in my families business but they did not care. his was over a stupid $50.00 item which we all know that they could send it back and receive a credit or a new one from the company. I left and stood out front telling people about their poor customer service and did manage to get several people to turn away. I perfer to buy from Sears as they are the best around at taking stuff back and most of the time never even question the return. When buying this Ipod I did not have time to go shopping so I did go to Circut City which I have never had any issues with. The reason its called best buy is because when they tell ou by as your leaving the store they mean by as don't come back unless your buying something. |

Does your wife specifically want an iPod? Does she intend to buy music from iTunes?
